The APPRENTICE greets the CHIMERA and she does the same in return.
The APPRENTICE has met the CHIMERA before, but hasn't shared many words with her. Seems a bit friendly at the least!
She's a construct that the MASTER put together in the LABS, supposedly after many a night of studying alchemy and summoning blood and things like that. Probably. He was vague about it.
She possesses a lion's mane, a bear's paws, a dragon's tail, a gator's snout, and... something's horns.

She is very wide, so much so that the apprentice can't get their arms around her very well, but she is also very soft.

The APPRENTICE tells the CHIMERA one of their deepest, darkest, most embarrassing secrets:
They thought they signed up to be a MAGICIAN, but ended up in a pact to become a WIZARD and has too much pride to go back on their mistake.
They believe they can do it so good anyway.

...This is a bit much for the CHIMERA. Interesting, she supposes, but she probably didn't need to know that.

The rules are a bit different for those who aren't human, especially those with fur.
She's also got no bits.

It would appear that the MASTER's TELEPORTATION PAD is not on its POWER FONT (circle on the floor), as the sigil in their alcove is not lit up.
The APPRENTICE has never seen the MASTER's room. They assume it is full of cool things and is very nice to look at and observe.
Or it could be bare and empty. Wouldn't that be funny?
Or it could be somewhere in between.
Now the APPRENTICE doesn't know what to expect.

On hand, the APPRENTICE has sticks of chalk (which can be powdered with the mortar and pestle later), and a vial of BRIMSTONE. If they want to make green glow sticks, grass might work for the COLOUR REAGENT.
It's raining outside, so they could get water that way, albeit it'd be slow to fill the cauldron that way.
Thankfully, the APPRENTICE knows where Whisps are: the "lights" in the foyer. The difficulty will be extracting the ESSENCE of them, somehow.

A couple issues with this thought.
The APPRENTICE has the wrong kind of stats for being a KNIGHT. They'd need things like LETHAL LACERATION or LOUT'S LIMIT or CHIVALROUS CHARISMA.
This thought makes the APPRENTICE sad.
Also, the APPRENTICE is in a pact to become a WIZARD! They can't become anything else at the moment!

They signed a fancy magical pact under the supervision of a WIZARD'S ADJUDICATING BUNYIP. Can't break that shit under the threat of bodily destruction of their MASTER's choosing.
For example, having all of their blood removed from their body. Or having all of their bones removed from their body. Or being turned into some small Creature. Or being turned into a massive slide puzzle that an adventurer may have to solve before they can become Normal again. Or having themselves erased from existence from the past, present, and future.
All worrying possibilities.

That being said... one of the prizes of the WIZARD DUEL is said to be a spell that names oneself! How lucky is that?

After popping their ALCHEMICAL MANUAL back in their ALCHEMAGE'S POCKET, they grab a scroll from their bin of WIZARDLY SCROLLS, tear the paper off of its roller, and fold (and scrunch) it to be vaguely in the shape of a WIZARD'S HAT, creating the APPRENTICE'S HAT OF HANDICRAFT.
It appears to grant +2 to GIZMO'S GAMBIT and -2 to ONOMATOPOEIA OBSCURATION.
They equip it.

The APPRENTICE draws a circle with a stick of chalk, but doesn't fill it with anything... because they don't know what to put in there!
They've summoned a desk before, but that was basic magic with a normal ass wand. They might need a bit more instruction and/or studying to summon something fancier with a summoning circle.

It would be convenient if they had TIME MAGIC, wouldn't it? Just in general, really. Unfortunately, of course, that is a much higher level of magic than the apprentice has access to learn, and they wouldn't have the stats to cast any of it yet. And it's restricted to a very small section of wizards due to its nature.

The APPRENTICE knows a few spells, and thankfully for them, "BABBLER'S BROOK" is one of them!
At the low, low cost of one mana per cast, and as long as the caster has 2 AXIOMATIC ARCANOSITY, this spell will create a steady (albeit small) stream of water from the caster's focus point!
It's a bit of a low level spell, but you gotta start somewhere.
The other spells the APPRENTICE knows are SUMMON DESK, SUMMON GAMING CHAIR, FLAVOUR BLAST, and ALCHEMAGE'S POCKET.
