Bug reports, known issues, wishlists

for some reason changing my avatar is very finicky. the new avatar usually doesnt replace all 3 instances of the previous avatar (profile, topic, reply) and the previous avatar will sometimes even come back if it was previously replaced. i just have to keep retrying until i get lucky

@jupiter not just you, I had the same problem recently. There's some weird cache that redirects to the real image when accessed directly, I think it's related to that.

Your previous avatars are out for blood. You wanted to ice them, now it's time for revenge.

Right now text is aligned left by default in posts, and right by default in signatures, and there is no way to change that.

I wanted the link to my adventure to sit prettily UNDER my banner... but instead it runs away to the far right, and also place "Alabaster" right next to "TRASH", making this alignment doubly the kind of association I'd like to avoid. :D

Wishlist: Ability to quote posts.

its probably been mentioned before but the forum page directionary is starting to go off screen, so i cant just click to go back to page 1 on the homestuck forum but either have to click through the big forum-subform directionary again or edit the url to page=1 again

Out of curiosity, and I'm sure this has been mentioned before but, is there a reason the age number below a profile only goes based on year and doesn't take the date into account?

i'd really like a way to change my password? just in case.

@junedave iirc Cami said a reset password thing was being worked on but it was in a different forum post. Whole reason I made this account lol

there are So Many Pages in this thread so sorry if it has already been mentioned but i would love a "back to top" button or whatever youd call that. been thinking about that for a bit!

I'll phrase this in the form of a question. Why do threads exist separately of their board? Like this thread for example. It's just t/bug-reports-etc. instead of b/forum-meta/t/bug-reports-etc.

As a non-question, I'd like for threads in a specific board to have a link to that board somewhere on the page.

probably url-related SEO or whatever crap. idk why it matters, its just a url

anyway reporting that the code/<> button doesnt do anything

and that there's no link button/no obvious way to make an image link

Im unsure if the devs know, but the homestuck category has enough pages for them to start being pushed out to the leftside of the screen

Probably a frequent request but a search feature would be nice.

@thebeesknees I'd like to compound this complaint by adding that I have had to update my signature 4 times since the forums launched. And I'm not using discord images. I'm using other websites like facebook that aren't supposed to change how images are stored. Or at least, that's all I can think of to say. I don't actually know how facebook or any website works. But it sucks when I come back here and my little pixel trolls are gone. Then I gotta either make a new upload on a new site or copy n paste a link and hope it sticks.

i am throwing myself in the bbcode requester pile! and here's the main reason why: bbcode is still how you format things in MSPFA, and it would make things a lot easier for folks running forum adventures and maintaining an MSPFA mirror. as it is, forum adventure posters with an MSPA mirror have to go back and forth adding/removing bbcode tags (or maintain both an RTF and BBcode version of their script) so they can keep both their thread and their MSPFA listing updated. in the long run that adds up to a lot of extra work!!

i'm also wondering if a character limit for display names would be reasonable, because very long ones can break a page's formatting and create accessibility issues as a result:

character limits are probably not the only way to solve this issue, but i think it's worth looking into when you have the time.

thanks for all your work on the forums so far! building one from scratch is NOT a simple task, and i appreciate it.
