I feel like I'm relatively new compared to a lot of the fans I see, I'm just about approaching my 2nd year anniversary of starting homestuck for my girlfriend's birthday. I was meaning to read it anyways because Undertale is my favourite game of all time and it wouldn't exist without homestuck, so I thought it'd be a good idea to read it so I could understand utdr better ad I fell in love. I'd love to hear when other people read it and what first prompted them whether it was a friend or something else. •<|:o).

Back in 2013!! Someone reccomended MSPA to me at my school's anime club and I ended up reading Problem Sleuth first because it was shorter and finished. Then I came back and started HS a few months later.
@theartvoid
I also started in the summer of 2011 too! (if I remember correctly) I must have around 14. Read the whole thing, at the time, to catch up with some school friends who started reading it too.
🐝
I started when I was like 11 or 12 during the peak homestuck years (2012-2013). My classmates in middle school had no idea what the fuck I was talking about. Hard to believe it’s been that long.
WHAT THE FUCK IS A KILOMETER!!!
I first read it in 2013 but didn't really join the fandom/fan space until my second read in 2015-ish. haven't stopped being a fan since
TC: But here's the slimer...
2016 so I was in the first grade reading Homestuck (or at least trying to lol) and it never left Sometimes I wonder how different my life would have been if i hadn’t been in the computer lab that day or hadn’t seen an older kid reading it
Welcome to my Ted talk
I first heard of homestuck when i was 12 or 13 in middle school and my friends would talk abt it. but then they’d cover my ears and be like “no aim! youre the innocent kid! you cant read homestuck!” so yeah i thought homestuck was super inappropriate based on their reaction, and i was scared to approach it for the longest time LMAOOOOO
But then like 4 years later when i turned 16 i was like “what was the big deal abt homestuck?” so i read it and it changed my life cus it made me more inspired to make characters. im 21 now and i still love to look up and imagine how my characters would play w/ homestuck concepts n such ^____^
about 2 years ago now... :horror:
have been trying to read it a second time but i don't think i can do all dat
I started around October 2023, so it's nearly my 2 year anniversary.
I ended up reading the first 4 acts in about a weekend's time... my first big hiatus was when I got upset about Vriska calling Tavros slurs during mid Act 5, and it took me a week to realize I could just ignore it and skip.
i started in like early November of 2024 and i finished it in early December or 2024,,, it took me exactly a month to read it all :P
#2 callieroxy fan never get too confident
i read it the summer of 2020 and recently finished rereading it a couple months ago. both readthroughs took something like 3 months? it was cool to reread it cuz i honestly didnt comprehend half of it when i was 12 XD
i got into homestuck during the fall of 2018! i cant remember what month though... probably either late september or early october :P
hi
Not sure of the exact point we started reading but it was in the early 2010s. The first new page we got to call upd8 on in our friend group was the intermission just before Act 6 began!
We got into thanks to an what became an RP group on the now dead and gone ponychan lmao, kinda fun having an existing familiarity with the characters going in.
Homestuck also acted as a catalyst on at least half of our identity weirdness so that's fun <3
Read it with my friends voicing the characters together but they sucked so i solo-read it
Started reading about a year after it ended in 2017. Really was kinda of a miracle I wasn't spoiled on anything :O
Tbd or maybe not?
i first started reading it in 2021 iirc! got real close to finishing it (not including beyond canon) but never really did and now i'm rereading it so i can finish it!

i read it back in the 80s before the film release… good times

started reading in late 2020/early 2021 i think. round abt when yr8 started for me at least. so abt 4-5 years ago now. wow.
blah blah blah or whatever
2016! A friend was reading it beforehand, but I only ever tackled this silly webcomic once the final curtains closed!
I've been stuck here ever since.
I first tried reading it in middle school. I was hooked from the get-go, I was up until like three A.M. binging it. I stopped not really for any particular reason, I just suck at committing to media, I was probably filtered by the Intermission though because I don't remember reaching Hivebent and definitely didn't reach Collide.
I never really gave HS that much thought after that until about a year ago when my college roommate tells me about his love-hate relationship with it and that really piques my interest. I tell that to my moirail (who had a big Homestuck phase earlier in the year) and she immediately urged me to read it. Somehow, I finished the comic by the end of the year and both of the people who got me into it tapped out at the start of Act 6.
