These last two upd8s have made my life. Whatever's going on with the Fanontinuum is so exciting; I loved Paradox Space and especially The Inaugural Death, so to see them (potentially) return in some form is awesome, and it's nice to finally see fanon represented as an oppositional existential force to canon in HS:BC, whatever form the Fanontinuum ultimately takes. And today's upd8 was perfect; I really feel like I'm reading Homestuck for the first time again. The wonder of a new planet, a new species, new alien culture and terminology, the character introduction section... we have truly never been so back babey. I can't wait to learn more about nymphs and satyrs! The nymph design is sooooooo fucking cool and distinctly Rose, so I'm sure I'll be equally as impressed by and obsessed with whatever the team has cooked up for the satyrs. I'm already feeling the urge to make fankids. I love Ly'lac! I love TC! I literally couldn't be more excited if I tried! I don't even know what to say it's all just really cool!

i think people are going to say things about how what little nymph culture we see is really derivative of troll culture (weird names for objects, the works) but like
it's rose. of course she would influence that.
it's so weird spending two months being OBSESSED with deltarune and then gearing up to be OBSESSED with homestuck all over again????? ly'lac is AMAZING, but i gotta say i am SO INCREDIBLY hyped to see more TC. LOVED reading his dialogue on a call with my friend. if Flower Theory (not really a theory) is correct, i'm guessing he's a satyr.......... :thinking:
alright the theorycrafting is real on this one.
basically homestuck works on sets of 16. because of the 16 possibilities of 2 letter usernames using ATGC. 4 kids + 12 trolls, 4 post scratch kids + 12 dancestors. all neat sets of 12 that fill out all 16 possibilities.
my guess is beyond canon will fill out another set. we know 4 usernames so far from the nymphs and from the arrow(===>) we can infer theres 6 of them total. theres also the 4 omega kids. how would the set be filled out? +6. my guess is either the nymphs get a scratch or we get another set of 6 from whatever species dirk cooked up, or a mix of the 2(maybe not all 6 of the ===> are nymphs).
so my theory is this: omega kids will not scratch. nymphs will. 16 filled out neatly

i love that dirk is showing through in the narration. i love terezi interjecting. it's so cool that we're doing this gag but with the added twist of being intimately familiar with the architects of whatever catastrophe is about to be inflicted on these new kids. aahhhhhhh i'm just so glad they finally got here after so many years!!! really exciting stuff :)
since TC is so likely a satyr (mechanically inclined) it's likely the icons are different between satyrs and nymphs, with satyrs having the bent caps to look like wizards while nymphs have pointed caps. this probably also means the races are gender segregated which is funny. also based on that im going to throw a wild guess that satyrs have norse denizens since they're the reddit of mythologies

I had a thought that because you see Terezi give a command to Ly'lac, the creators (Dirk, Rose, Terezi) will act like the exiles, that could fit in with how this session isn't "natural" as it has been planned out before hand by the previous sburb players. It might be a different/new kind of session, with how there are doomed, void, and dead sessions.
funnily enough i think we'll probably only see terezi commands and maaaaaybe rose commands. you can tell dirk is narrating from the name page where the narrator just goes "Dope. I guess you go by LY'LAC, OF THE FINAL APPLAUSE.". What other narrator other than Dirk is gonna fucking say DOPE.
