How did you get into Homestuck?

I got into it because I saw someone reading it in public years ago, same person who put me on Touhou so I trusted them that it must be peak.

some rper in a server i was in with a troll oc. led me down the rabbit hole of "what is this. oh more troll ocs. i should look into this. [proceeds to spend formative years of my life immersed in shitty internet subculture]"

My good friend back in elementary school kept reading it in the computer lab while I sat next to him and I thought the captchalogue jokes I read over his shoulder were funny.

OFF (the rpgmaker game) to homestuck to transgender pipeline

My friend at the time, who was a programmer made an ~ATH interpreter; it even had functionality for crashing your computer as a simulation of it blowing up from an error, and I was curious what this was from. I also remember seeing the trolls in the 2012 Garry's Mod toybox, and I thought they were supposed to be demons.

i tell this story a lot, but when i was like 16 i discovered SBAHJ independently of homestuck and read it for 3 months before someone informed me that it was part of a larger webcomic. i was like "uh, yeah, i know it's a webcomic" and they had to explain to me that no, it's a webcomic WITHIN a webcomic. then my whole life got changed forever.

I was like. 13? and was recommended by the algorithm of youtube [s] make her pay and had no idea what was going on but I knew it was gas and I had to fucking read everything that became before and everything that came after.

my mortal enemy kept pestering me to read it like early last year ish and i started to read it. ironically. as a joke. worst decision of my life

saw an octopimp video, sober halloween, fell in love with gamzee and obsessed over it because of him

don't remember where i heard about it first exactly (current guess is from a mlp webcomic), tried to read it in like 2019 (on mobile :p), got to act 5, and then gave up, then in like 2022 after being into ut/dr for a while and having a few friends who talked about it, decided to give it another try since it was back in my circle and it clicked immediately, ive been a fan of it ever since

when i was 15 i was in a discord server my friend invited me to that had a lot of homestucks in it but then the server was deleted because of some dumb drama surrounding the touhou yuri channel. anyway like a year later i remembered all that talk about homestuck and i thought "its probably not that bad if all those people liked it" and then i liked it so much i read it all in 12 days and ive never been the same since

Watched the Sarah Z video on it, and went "Huh, this comic seems interesting, from an internet history POV if nothing else" and logged it in my "things I should read" folder. Years later I finally got around to reading this stupid webcomic and it altered something deep within my Nonexistent "Human Soul"

I saw the hardcover copy in my older sibling's room as a kid and went "oughh.. funne picthores..." and then my entire life was shifted

im a newgen fan, i was peer-pressured into reading it, i think i started in Oct 2024

2011, I'd been meaning to read it for a while and then Cascade day and everyone going insane pushed me over the edge

Double embed fail. Oh my fucking god. Anyway i read it in a feverish mania over a couple weeks where i would wake up read homestuck and go to sleep.

Some friends at school told me about it, although I had seen some cosplays at conventions before that too. I started on 4/13/13 because they said that day was special.
