This isn't a theory thread meant to persuade anyone I just want to talk about CC being trans!!!

So far CC has been he/him'd (by the satyrs) and they/them'd by the chat client and I think CC is also the friend who watches the anime with Ly'lac, in which case they've also been she/her'd!!! At the very least they use they/them for realsies, since the chat client only uses these pronouns for CC (you can go back and check other chat convsersations, status changes always use the proper pronouns for the characters!)

Also they seem to be a nymph presenting themselves to be a satyr, which at the very least plays with gender expression. Also also, Swiss called their satyr name "fake" and treats them in general as a predator, which is sadly reminiscent of transphobia :v

Anyway I'd love to talk more about CC's transness or just them in general (//▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

There's the intriguing suggestion that gender and species are 100% identified with each other on Deltritus: all nymphs are female, all satyrs are male. So, to transition from your birth-assigned sex, you may also have to transition from your birth-assigned species. The idea of changing one's official species does crop up occaionally in SF and fantasy. Offhand I can think of Captain Carrot from Discworld, a human orphan who was adopted by Dwarves and who considers him self to be a (6-foot-plus) Dwarf. In "Translation State" by Anne Leckie there are a couple of examples of characters changing which species they identify as. But I've never seen it linked to gender in this way before.

got bandersnatches? i,uh, can handle that for you,
