Dear OP, I will inform you: I have three carabiners. I do declare that Jane Crocker is The Ultimate Butch, especially as the only human girl to be seen wearing pants in canon. If you deem this unsavoury, at the very least grant her the title of futch, though I will regard you with skepticism and distaste.

As a respectable owner of three carabiners, I will address thee with honor, accepting a debate. But I will bring my gun with me.

I grant not the title of butch based on aesthetics or garment choice. The pants make not the butch. It is the swagger, it is the attitude. It is how they treat the femmes, and the other butches. It's what they mouth do.

Jane Crocker is not a butch, or a futch, nor a femme for that matter. She is a different category entirely: the "never found out I was gay and just think every girl looks at boobs as much as me" category. Perhaps one day, or in the universe where Cottoncandy is canon, we'll see thy vision become reality. As for now, I shall keep my opinion. Becuz my opinions are final.

i always find it odd when people call meenah butch. meenah loves glitter, bling, excessive jewelry and glam. meenah loves pink, frills, and little lipstick kissy marks. meenah loves FEMME.

meenah is arguably one of the most overtly feminine characters in all of homestuck. unfortunately for her fanonical perception, she is a black woman who wears pants. aha! a butch!

femmes can be mean. femmes can be bitchy! femmes can have "attitude" and "swagger" (read: blackness and usage of AAVE) without being labeled as butch. i love butches, i am butchy, but by god is meenah peixes one of the least butch to ever do it.

Counterpoint: Butches can be quite glamorous.

i'd still argue that meenah is in no way butch, but rather is perceived as masculine by fandom due the masculinization of black women. is there any reasoning for butch meenah other than military wear ? i understand this is meant to be a fun thread, but i want to bring to attention what may be subconscious antiblack behavior.
