Hussie vs UHC - Is this, like... actually true?

full trust for gio, they are very reliable, don't like their slight bigotry but if they work to redeem themselves then it's all fine.

i would like to note that discord screenshots are incredibly trivial to fake by opening dev tools and inspect-elementing whatever text you want into them. them being image files would not make them inherently more trustworthy.

Re;periclase, that's a fair point, even if they were actual image files they should still be taken with a grain of salt. It's just that them being text recreations is just more blatantly fishy, I think.

shelby; the events gio listed correlating with the blog posts made on the Beyond Canon website are leading me to believe in gio here, combined with the "official" fork of the UHC matching up with gios description of what the HICU was attempting to do, the fact that we were heavily encouraged to believe that hussie was uninvolved in the HICU which is very much appearing to not be the case, i would eagerly appreciate more proof of the claims but i am heavily leaning towards them being true.

This is absolutely nothing new. Hussie has been very consistent in this kind of behaviour; there's the Sarah Z stufff, there's the time he tried a hostile takeover of the fan discord+reddit. This stuff is all on record.

It's a shame because creatively hussie is an aspirational figure for me; I'd love to be able to do what he's done - interpersonally though he basically just seems to be a huge piece of shit.

after reading everything in this forum i feel like a lot of good points were made. I didn't know anything about Gio beforehand, but now that certain things have been brought up about him they're impossible to ignore.

I'm not saying Hussie is innocent or anything, I just think this is in large part due to her lack of proper communication >_> in any case, we should all calm down and wait for new information. I made a forum topic on this when it first dropped, but i'm going to delete it bc it was framed as hussie entirely to blame. thank u everyone who went out of their way to provide proper information!!

RemedyHearts, I do agree with you, I'm also personally inclined towards the claims being generally true, though like others I'd rather wait for more information. But, the post isn't an unbiased documentation of the events. From the wording and the clickbait-y title, it was clearly written with the goal of making people angry at Hussie (or angrier than they already were), not necessarily to inform them. Appealing to emotion first and truth second.

Even if you accept the events and claims in the post as true, it's still good to take the whole thing with a grain of salt and consider what might've been embellished or left out. Someone who describes himself as "pure of heart" and is presenting only one side of the narrative in a fiercely-worded blog post is probably not going to include the parts that make himself look bad.

Giving a direct timeline of events and how things were presented Gio definitely has a lot of good points but the evidence being recreated discord screenshots doesn't do it for me right now this is one sided I'll wait for statements from the team to see what's going on I am really sorry everyone is getting upset about this xC​​

God, the rhetoric in here is egregious.

I think the insinuation of transphobia is an irresponsible one. Nevermind that his first footnote is about sensitivity to Andrew's pronouns, and that he's using the same ones as Andrew's friends, colleagues and legal counsel; I have literally never seen an instance of behavior from Gio that would suggest anything other than total respect.

Also, could someone please explain to my why screenshots are less "shady" than transcripts? Because if you've been relying on .jpegs of chatlogs as your source of ground truth, I have a bridge to sell you.

God, I took another look at the article and realized that one of the sections is called "The Gio-ish Question." Jesus christ, dude, that is INSANELY poor taste. Maybe don't do that if you want people on your side.
