oh my god your analysis about dave wanting to be a mom is really interesting and Peak, Methinks,. and also i feel like it just enhances some of the postcanon stuff in candy even further- like, the idea that dave ALSO might have been interested in having kids, but never really explored that want. and jade having a kid with rose because she desperately wants a kid and rose being in some way, the next best thing to dave Oh My God. sorry im just all the things are going through my head rn and i think theres just something so like. compellingly depressing about jade and dave both wanting to be moms and either never exploring that because of their circumstances or going through with it and creating a chaotic mess and life for the kid. dude. i think estrogen would have saved dave and adoption or rose not being a SECRET surrogate would have saved them.

I think a big thing about it is that dave wouldn't ever consider wanting to be a mom before she realized she was trans, as she'd have huge hangups over not wanting to be a dad, and even then I think she'd be terrified of the idea of raising a kid because she doesn't think she's suited to be a mom despite any of her own desires.

June and Vriska aren't really headcanons at this point but they're very important to me.
I'm shocked Dave and Karkat as girls isn't more popular, it's one of those things that the instant i first saw it it just completely embedded in my head as a reading. Calliope I really like as a nonbinary transfemme, I think her stuff in the epilogues and surrounding the muse class really reminds me of the things I've seen transfemmes write about being told real womanhood only comes through perfect conformity/unlearning that and self-actualizing.

I also didn't really see Kanaya as a trans woman originally (I mean, I didn't really see anyone as trans when I first read it because I wasn't thinking of that as a real option yet but that obviously changed lmao). When I eventually read it again one of Kanaya's first interactions with June had June calling Kanaya "dude" and Kanaya responding that she was a girl not a boy. June then says something about how she didn't kniow why she assumed that and Kanaya says "It Happens" and I was just like. Oh. "It Happens" Is now one of the first things that comes to mind when I think of transness in Homestuck.
