Today we got a solid start to act 2 and have been introduced to Ly'lac! who likes bombs.
I just love how over-the-top this is turning out to be.
Uses the browser Seth, which of course would correspond to denizen, likely borrowing from Egyptian myth this time. Very interesting.

I stated this in an earlier post, but I'm hoping that this is a new kind of session, one that seems almost "unnatural" compared to the old ones (Doomed, void, and dead sessions), with even stranger lands which don't seem to fully make sense.

seconding the grey thing, so far they sort of just look like hornless trolls - Humans, Trolls, and Cherubs are all very distinct from one another in terms of appearance. i wish there was more to set the nymphs apart

Honestly, I dunno that I want the new session to be too wild. I feel like we've seen enough of fucked up sessions in HS proper, and I feel like we can get into more interesting character stuff if the game goes the way it's "supposed" to.
I adored it!! Always love a good portion of new art styles and fun characters. It makes sense for Ly’lac to be slightly eldritch inspired… we can blame Rose for that.
I can’t wait to see what happens next!! Hope we get to see a little bit more of everyone, too.

i think nymphs are a bit... out there? for a new species. it seems like the creator threw everything rose likes into a blender and didnt account for if it'd be good or not :o|
i think its a bit much for nymphs to be able to Do That with their limbs and have the second mouth thing... idk, though

New species is pretty fantastic design-wise, lots of little elements. Like Ly'lac's Xenomorph-adjacent tongue when screaming.
I'm curious if Deltritus as a concept for the sessions is connected across time rather than space (across the planet, but instead different eras of the planet) given some of the implications of the dialogue, based on my interpretation. It would make for a fantastic way for the entire planet to not die in one single shot, but it would also raise the possibility that Deltritus has in fact experienced multiple world-ending apocalypses via asteroid, and each era's attempt was a large set of attempted players to continue the seeding process.
Also I feel like I only just now realized "seeding" in game terms is similar to torrent like files. Tidal torrents, Shrub seeding. Multiple eras with a handful of players who attempted the game. With a set of six players across six different eras of Deltritus' planetary history.

if the nymphs (or at least ly'lac) are influenced design-wise by rose, im interested to see what the alien designs will be for dirk's species. specifically in regards to what aspects of his character they may or may not derive their influences from.
(based on dirk and rose's mentioned contest in developing their own separate races to inhabit deltritus from the 4/13/24 update. might re-read later for a refresher/better understanding.)
overall, really enjoyed the latest upd8. excited to learn more about shurb, see how much it differs from sburb and what will be happening next in the comic.
ly'lac's hair looks like rose's squiddle on her shirt!! i love it!! (i love squiddles) im assuming its beclaws its her species thing? i dont know im fuzzy when it comes to hsbc :op i cant wait to see dirks. also she looks like a rosemary love child a little hehe
I really liked the newest update it was soooo cool! It really felt like old homestuck was back again and I appreciate that about it fr. I also really liked the intermission as well and thought that what we saw was great. I have high hopes for the rest of the story if it will continue to be like this. I have a lot of gripes with past beyond canon and this seems to be going in a good direction IMO.
