tbh I think that it’s most from the fact that they’re the newest character that is completely new and not related to another character we’ve seen before. Also, they’re a new species, and look a bit like Rose: Familiar but different enough to be exciting.

i'm excited to see more of her and understand her more! i know we haven't seen much of her but i'm already quite charmed honestly, she has some quite funny jokes, and i'm just everso interested in her newfound species and design. also, bombs are fun o---*

People are simply excited for a new character. Is that surprising?
something about her intro just scratches that nostalgic itch for me. plus she's a cross between a squiddle and CD, with the abundance of bombs and bomb-throwing appendages. what's not to love?
She's a furry interesting character, and she brings something fun and new to the table. (I love the choice to black code her and Rose in Beyond Canon.)
