terraria thread

I wish I had gotten into it early! Terraria looks really sick but I didn't play it as a kid, and now I feel like it's a little dense to start on by this point. But I do really dig listening in on some of the playthroughs my friends have done. My buddy Riley did this thing where she mined an entire world for a marathon stream, until there were 0 floors or walls left! I'll have to see if I can find it because the premise is really funny.

i actually played it not too long ago as I both hadn't played/beaten vanilla, no-weird shit terraria in a while AND i wanted to clear out the rest of my achievements for 100%

overall: really fun! (when the game lets you actually do stuff). fighting the bosses was super fun and was the best part, but i thought there was a bit too much downtime that suuuuuucked between the cool bits of terraria for me to give it that renowned status i once held it in. it also made me realize why so much QoL exists because it HEAVILY cuts down the amount of downtime. i missed alch npc lite sooo much

i love terraria so much!!! @anomaletix i cant play without alchemist npc lite or fargos anymore lol. most of what i play is modded and its almost always a bunch of calamity mods

it's genuinely so insane how much the experience changes with QoL versus without it. i never want to have to do no-hit empress of light again without something that lets me skip day/night because i would legitimately get walled for an entire day of attempts because of fawking solar eclipses or pirates. I need you... Cosmolight...... Save me...

also i hope they add something so you can like follow forum threads/reply to people cuz i think terraria is a super interesting game to talk about

Terraria might actually be my weakness. Every time I start playing I can't stop until I beat the game again.

On January I decided to replay by myself and go so excited I started different playthroughs with two different friend groups then got so burnt out that I ended up not finishing any of them. And I think we're going to start a new world tomorrow so... fuck.

Terraria is a game which, in my opinion is a fun experience which nevertheless fails to make a fully compelling combination of it's RPG elements and open world action platformer gameplay loop. 7/10, I have wasted 1,000 hours of my life on this bullshit

pretty neat! played through eternity mode recently, i had some really good highs but some really REALLY lows. (QUEEN SLIME COUGH COUGH)

@Labyrinth i can see how it could be dauntin' now! it's definitely a lot easier with a friend. also yup, i've seen videos of people minin' whole worlds and it sounds so miserable, haha.

@ANOMALETIX oh yeah playin' modless after a while does make ya miss QoL mods. i suck at storage systems without magic storage </3

@Palm Heart yes it is so easy to get wrapped up in a playthrough! it's been a while (probably about a year) for me but i've been havin' the itch to play for at least a month or two; especially with the calamity drama sorted out, i'm excited to see how the mod improves.

@Arizona haha you got me beat. i still need t' go back and get those last 12 achievements before they add like 12 more in the next update.

@sodacan ohhh eternity mode is a bitch (i love it so much). i really like the wall of flesh fight for it especially.

@Madi huge fan of calamity and mods that go with it, calamity's vanities is a favorite. i haven't played infernum mode in a while since subworld stuff doesnt play nice in multiplayer

@timaeusdemiurge eternity mode wof is sooooo fun genuinely a top 5 fight from that mod

Do you guys happen to have any suggestions for my Modded gameplay?
I am already running Fargo's Souls and Calamity. I recently tried Starlight River and Calamity Fables (both of which I recommend if you want something more out of early-game.)

I am up for any sort of suggestions that you all feel is unique and interesting!

Modded terraria ruined the game for me.

Vanilla just feels bland now without all the added shit i had on my pc version.
