First, there was nothing.
Just text, on a forum wall.
But that was boring,
So some huge asshole was all like:
">Begin SWATCHQUEST".
And that's exactly what happened.
This is the prophecy foretold by that same huge asshole from exactly 10 minutes ago when they opened up FireAlpaca and turned of anti-aliasing,
A prophecy that predicted what was to come in the next like. 30 seconds from now.
>Begin SWATCHQUEST.
Welcome to SWATCHQUEST! The name is pretty misleading, you aren't questing to anywhere.
But you could.
Let's examine your OVERLAY.
First up is the PAINT button. In here is your PAINT SWATCH and handy BRUSH. You can draw whatever you want.
Next are your TOOLS. You've got lots of them. Want something to be sentient and feeling? Use the SENTIZER. Want something to carry out a specific task? Forever? Use the PROGRAMIZER. And, so on and so fourth.
Finally, the NODES button. This, of course, lets you see all your NODES. These add prefixes to your TOOLS, making them carry out a different action. Like, for example, a DE-SENTIZER. Or an EX-PROGRAMIZER.
If you want more in depth looks at any of these, just ask!
Of course, if you don't feel like programming, say, a door to lead you on an epic quest, you can always just leave it up to fate and have the Huge Asshole from the prophecy decide for you.
This is not another trilogy, it's just another story.

>Paint an apple for you to eat :]
You equip your PAINT SWATCH and get to work.
Now that's one hell of an apple.
You'd love to eat it, but you have no mouth. So you guess it'll just.. hang out there.
This is not another trilogy, it's just another story.
>Paint some lively color into this monochromatic background
You do that. Unfortunately, all you've ever known is this monochromatic void, so you just have to make guesses on where you think the colors go.
You're pretty sure you got it right.
This is not another trilogy, it's just another story.
>draw a penis
Ok.
This is not another trilogy, it's just another story.

Ok. (2x)

Check out my thread-venture:
Between A Rock And A (Solid) Place
> Draw an Exile Terminal from Homestuck so we can see a future character and control their actions.
The terminal hangs there, just begging to be viewed.
You're not entirely sure how it works, though.
>or draw a penis whichever one, really.
You choose not to do that, because frankly you're getting sick of drawing phallic objects.
This is not another trilogy, it's just another story.
>draw another you
This has the possibility of getting fairly confusing. It hasn't been blessed with sentience to act independently just yet, but when it does, you might need some way to uniquely identify them.
A name, maybe? You're not even sure what your name is, actually.
Maybe some kind of accessory.
Or maybe you'll just leave them there like this. It's not like they can think, after all.
This is not another trilogy, it's just another story.
> Draw yourself a mouth. No good not being able to eat your snack!
You say you'd still rather wear the outfit.
He's got nothing to say about that.

Good point. You draw yourself a mouth.
Now, not only can you eat, but the amount of emotion you can show on your face has gone beyond just eyebrows!
This is not another trilogy, it's just another story.
> elaborate on tools, what tools are there and how can each one be used?
Sure thing.
From left to right, you have...
(1) ERASER. This can be used to clean up the space around you a bit, and even functions as a pseudo-white color for your brush!
(1) SENTIZER. This allows you to breathe life into anything you so desire. Just be prepared for the consequences of having a character in this story you have no full control over.
(1) PROGRAMIZER. This allows you to bestow a specific function into something you draw if you want to get more specific. If you want that apple you just drew to explode when eaten, you're more than welcome to use the PROGRAMIZER to make that happen!
(1) FUSERIZER. It fuses things that you draw together, alongside their functions and any sentience they may currently possess.
and (1) METATIZER. Careful with this thing. We aren't entirely sure how it works, but it seems to save your progress in the current forumventure, and transform the one you're currently in into something entirely different. When you save your current progress, you can feel free to load between adventures as you wish.
Complicated stuff.
Each TOOL has an outlet in the bottom where you can place your NODES and change the tool's function if you so desire.
This is not another trilogy, it's just another story.
>Draw a wig for your new buddy.
You do that.
Looking dapper, man.
...But kind of uncanny when you're frozen like that.
This is not another trilogy, it's just another story.
>check out what's in the nodes, maybe you can make your clone only half-sentient somehow
Sure thing.
These are your NODES, or prefixes that you can add to your tools to change their function.
In order from left to right, you have...
(1) DE- Node. This undoes the last action preformed by the tool it's attached to. Probably won't do much for now.
(1) MICRO- Node. This changes the function of your tool to be a lot more benign than it might otherwise be. Wanna just partially fuse something? Try this one on for size.
(1) MACRO- Node. This changes the function of your tool to be a lot more intense than it might otherwise be. Wanna bestow an almost painful level of sentience onto something? Try this one on for size.
(1) ANTI- Node. This makes your tool do the exact opposite of what it would usually do. With something as simple as making your ERASER into a second brush, to something more complicated like the ever-elusive ANTI-METATIZER. Whatever that combination does surely can't be good.
Use them wisely.
This is not another trilogy, it's just another story.
