I mostly know of its existence for uniting two of my hyperfixations, Homestuck and Katamari Damacy
Microsoft Paint's strongest soldier.
Namco High actually got me into both of those things!
aw yeah i remember namco high! i still have the shirt they sold! :D
what the scallop
@ericro: Holy shit, that's amazing! You're the first person I've found that actually bought any of the merch. They had a messenger bag for $100, a 'diploma and class ring' for $250, and a letterman jacket for $500 (lmao). I've never heard of ANYONE that had the ring or jacket, and I'm fairly confident they were never made!
Please let me know if you happen to have any of the digital goodies that came with your purchase, iirc some wallpapers and forum avatars. The soundtrack download we have managed to locate and preserve, thankfully.
yes this is my actual siggy that i used back in like 2007.
no i dont know when i stopped being so cool

What a strange, but lovely little project Namco High was. Wish there was more weird crossover stuff like that in general.
sometimes I think about how the little bonus files i got from paying for the game remains my main proof that it was real.
that being said those files are on an old laptop I do have access to just not at the moment with no real ETA but when I can grab them (and I should be able to grab them) I will let yall know. unless someone beats me to it
rip shiftylook you were a real one

I remember going to San Diego Comic Con 2013, just a few months after I read the comic for the first time. There was a big ol' banner for Shiftylook, just across from the convention center, with a Homestuck logo on it. There was a whole area on the hotel's patio with the Whatpumpkin booth, the WeLoveFine shop, a Namco arcade, and an Adventure Time booth. They said there was gonna be an announcement at Hussie's autograph signing so I was super hyped. When we were in line to meet him they started passing out the posters for Namco High.
This is the right sign, but at a different event:
This is how it was set up at SDCC, when Namco High was announced:
And here I am meeting Hussie, 12 years younger and dressed as Ryan North from the best MSPA, Ryanquest
Namco High is such a neat thing that existed, and funny for me to look back on!
Here is a fanart I made one time!
Cousin is so sweet and genius design.
And another art I made when there was a popularity contest on tumblr to make fanart of the game and I won but they never reached out to me :’D (at least to my knowledge)
The thing is...I NEVER PLAYED THE GAME I don’t remember why I haven’t I just got obsessed with everything about it but when it came out- who knows what was happening in my world!!!
I wonder how one is able to go about playing it in this day and age :?
Also RE:skyplayer your journey and experience is interesting n epic
There's several ways to play Namco High nowadays! Through Flashpoint, The Unofficial Homestuck Collection, that one Neocities page, and that one Ren'Py port are all the ways I know how to play it post-ShiftyLook shutdown. I'd personally recommend the UHC's version of it, but the Flashpoint version is seemingly closer to the original version that ShiftyLook hosted. Alternatively, you can just use the Ren'Py port if you wanna play a version of NH with Ren'Py's features.
