hello! obviously this is where webcomic fans may coalesce so i am here to both promote and search for webcomics.
i'll start:
<a href="https://steelheartredux.webcomic.ws/comics/1#content-start">steelheart redux</a>
is a very good ongoing work about mechanical dragons and illegal shit. it's got REALLY gorgeous artwork and i've personally made it my life's mission to promo it anywhere i can.
<a href="https://soilthatbindsus.com/">soil that binds us</a> is an ongoing and VERY extensive comic about a postapocalypse society with ghosts roaming the world 'round.
<a href="https://superposecomic.com/">superpose</a> is a COMPLETED comic about queer people in a shitty small town reinventing physics. it's a bonus that the website fucking ROCKS.
<a href="https://holecomic.rip/">hole</a> (yeah) is an ongoing horror comic following jane nowak as she's haunted by a ghost from her past. theres lesbians
and finally, <a href="https://tertiaryapocalypse.neocities.org/lgl/">long gone legends</a> is a comic about florence seong-kobayashi and the dreams that haunt him and the town it grows up in. this one's mine. please read it.
okay i guess i will publically embarrass myself by using html syntax on a forum that doesn't let me.. my bad.
It's a bit old and not exactly... great, but I recall 1/0 by Tailsteak being quite fun and metatextual in certain ways. https://www.undefined.net/1/0/?strip=1
Doing my civic duty to recommend Objectified (https://www.objectifiedcomic.com/)
Yes its about characters who are objects, yes it also a infection based apocalypse story!
Genuine content warnings because this comic depicts alot of body horror, abuse, transphobia, substance abuse, and parasites, lots of and lots of parasites.
my favorite non-hs webcomic is without a doubt brawl in the family (http://brawlinthefamily.keenspot.com/). it's pretty much just silly late 2000s-early 2010s gaming humor (specifically nintendo), but not the edgy kind. if we visualize this type of gaming humor as a spectrum from wholesome to edgy, it is pretty much on the opposite extreme as something like brawl taunts.
.:|:; ;P
I'll post mine here in case anyone wants to read it lol

heres a webcomic ive been working on for the past 3~ years, its a fantasy adventure where two siblings come to terms with change in a world that constantly oppressed and keeps them down

corru observer isnt a proper webcomic, but it is a work of mixed media that is on the web, so i think it fits here. it even has its own trolls.
https://corru.observer/
*craps knuckles* i've been working on this webcomic for 9 years (as of like a week ago...!)
If you want to watch someone go from having no idea how to write or draw to someone who has maybe a little bit of a better idea of how to write and draw, you could do worse than my li'l comic. I've had a lot of fun making it.
It's about a lot of things, but right now it's a shonen-battle-manga-influenced action comic about sad people fighting in a tournament for a single chance for their wish to come true. The main character is a hippo with sunglasses who likes to skateboard.

Webtoons: actually don't read this version it doesn't translate very well to webtoons and I kinda gave up mirroring it there

my favorite non-hs webcomic is prooobably Kill Six Billion Demons! Which got its start on the original mspa forums funnily enough.
https://www.white-noise-comic.com
white noise is a favorite of mine, the art is pretty good and the characters are compelling. there's also a hefty amount of (non-conventional) fantasy political drama if that's your cup of tea.
"When most people go to the movies, the ultimate compliment for them is to say 'We didn't notice the time pass!' With me, you see the time pass. And feel it pass. You also sense that this is the time that leads towards death, and that's why there's so much resistance. I took two hours of someone's life." -Chantal Akerman
i've been working on my own webcomic for the past year and a half, although i haven't really updated it in a while.
it's called TWINSTAR, and it's a sci-fi fantasy action horror comic. in general, though, it revolves around the bond between two siblings and how strong that bond is when it's put through world-ending events.
you can read it on:

I really like she makes hungry, its ongoing and in a hiatus right now but the author also has other finished webcomics that are pretty good. https://comicfury.com/comicprofile.php?url=shemakeshungry
I'm currently working on a webcomic for MSPFA but I'm JUST starting it so no panels have been produced yet but I have a general idea for the first chapter and the titles / contents for at at least 40 pages atm

CREATOR OF FORCES OF WHAT?!
omg soil that binds us 1/0 and kid radd. did you know that kid radd has a credits theme done by mark hadley (did homestuck music. also Slender The 8 Pages)?!
I personally have a huge number of recs, but the one I'd like to share here is Girl Genius (adventure, romance, Mad Science!) at www.girlgeniusonline.com , a 23 year old ongoing strip with zero hiatuses on record. The premise is as such: a girl who thinks she's defective due to her chronic migraines discovers that she's actually the mad scientist heir to a mad scientist throne!!! every obstacle possible is thrown in her way, including giant weasels, evil trains, maniac heroes of the realm, and cute boys!!!!
please read it if you like comics, it's actually excellent.
Tryin to make a change :-/
