Its the Scott Pilgrim Movie’s 15th anniversary! I just went on instagram and Bryan Lee O’Malley made a post about that, I didnt know that, so I am sharing it here ^^

My 2d Animation class said we can draw animated characters for homework and I'm saying this here because I am 100% going to draw Scott Pilgrim and Matthew Patel ehehehehe

I have made several CBCs of SP characters for Homestuck, and now I'm wondering if the franchise will ever be referenced in Beyond Canon? Tho, I think it's probably more likely that cartoons (CatfishDogfish) and anime (D.N.Alkyrin)to be referenced than Scott Pilgrim rip. I mean, SP did get made into an anime, but still doesnt feel likely cus idk which of the writers are even fans of it lol. Yet one can dream, right? If my two fave things cross over I'd explode haha

I really like the slice-of-life atmosphere of this comic: for me it is the essence of 00s, the ultimate experience of teens and young adults of that time. Idk, the archetypes, trends, relationships, the scene.
I've yet to find the similar piece of fiction that grasp that era so well - and not with the over the top characters, but when you see and you can tell you KNOW people like this. O'Malley's Seconds and Snotgirl are like that, but I'm more interested in other authors' perspective. Giant Days are kinda like this, but I've read only a couple of chapters and it was kind of eh, so idk if I should read further. I'm not super familiar with western comics so I guess there are titles like that out there, that's just me who don't know any.

Also Hi Scott Pilgrim thread. I haven't been here in a while, but I have smth to announce :]

Since my and Scott Pilgrim's birthday is coming up, I am making a cosplay!!! I'm gonna go to a convention (also happening on my birthday!) and dress as the man himself!

I am sewing it myself because I thought it would be really fun! And this is my first time doing this! Here's a work in progress pic ^___^

After I put the star, I am going to cut the rest of the red fabric into strips and put them along the hems of the shirt.

Speaking about the star, I made an observation on the anime designs!

A few days ago, as I was gathering materials for my cosplay, I was looking again all of the default images of Scott Pilgrim, and I noticed he never had a star on his shirt except for the anime. And after analyzing this, I think adding the star on his shirt is to associate him with Ramona Flowers more, because she has stars on her clothing

And with that in mind, that's probably why the character designers tweak the Demon Hipster Chicks designs, so they'd have a 4-pointed star instead of a 5 pointed one! Because Matthew Patel doesn't get the girl, so why should he share imagery with her?

When I realized this, I thought that was kinda clever! And it answered a question in my mind as to why the Demon Hipster Chicks' stars changed, because I thought their design was fine as is lol.

Today is Scott Pilgrim's birthday! And also, my birthday! I cosplayed as Scott, and so many people recognized who I was. I even found a couple cosplaying as Ramona and Scott! When I edit my face out of the pictures, I will post what my cosplay looked like ^___^
