petition to remove phone number verification from the official homestuck discord

I've recently become aware of an official homestuck discord being made which seems really nice, but unfortunately I cannot post there due to it requiring phone number verification. Now I do have a phone however due to privacy concerns I do not wish to give my phone number to discord (imo it is way too excessive of a breach into my privacy as I reserve my phone number only for people I know and trust personally). I feel that this barrier to entry is unfair as it not only forces members of the homestuck community with similar privacy concerns to relinquish said privacy, but it also bars out any homestuck fans who do not have a phone number from joining the server. Because of this I make this thread in hopes that someone from the discord sees it and considers removing the phone number verification.
