So many OH SHIT moments. If it wasn't already obvious this ain't a "status quo rules" kind of show, this episode just shot the status quo with a bazooka.
The opening graphics sequence - no words. but totally communicated the idea of one AI-in-training cannibalising another. (Wonder if Goose realised how topical the show would become?)
Bubble flipping from the usual random goofiness to deliberately driving Caine over the edge. (Theory: Bubble = the remains of "Able"?)
When the soundtrack drops out completly during the flashback to Kinger's early days in the circus - and the brutal cut to Queenie going in the cellar, while Caine's voice references the "and nothing of value was lost" meme. Sean Chiplock's turn as Kinger is just beautifully sensitive....
...and Alex Rochon being EXTRA unhinged as Caine. Especially in that song - he's got the whole "Broadway song-'n'-dance number" vocal style, but you can feel the feral rage in his tone.
(The original TADC thread is so deeply buried I can no longer find it!)
Read Team Madrigog on AO3. If you want to, that is. Otherwise, don't.
