This conversation is bizzare to me because it's predicated on the idea Gio has some sort of basic human right to distribute copyrighted material (the asset pack) without a license for money (Gio has a Patreon). He does not. Literally any other IP would have immediately issued a DMCA. Hussie was willing to work with Gio (give him a free license, pay him), despite Gio accusing them of squandering 2 million dollars, on the condition that Gio sign an NDA, a thing that is extremely par for the course in any creative industry. Gio said no, and so he was no longer allowed to host Hussie's asset pack, which is Hussie's intellectual property, on his website, which he uses to badmouth Hussie, that links his patreon, where people can pay Gio to continue to both host Hussies copyrighted material and shit talk Hussie.

I am so sick of this fandom (reddit specifically) derailing every conversation about homestuck into a conversation about evil Hussie and poor innocent Gio. Makin has now unpinned the teaser trailer from reddit's community highlights but kept the pin for Gio's blog post. Bluh.

Speaking of the trailer. I can't fucking wait for the Hazbin hotel fans to come and breathe new life into this fandom. We need fresh faces. I want to see a bunch of excited 14 year olds making memes and writing karkatxreader fanfiction. I want to see grey paint get everywhere. It's about time. Bring on the bucket jokes.
