So after Gio released his articles, I made a post briefly going into my experience interacting with him and how I personally felt he was asking me a leading question that I included a screenshot of here: https://www.fruityrumpus.com/forums/reply/68964d40eb0e1f3bcab321ae
Since posting this, I've seen quite a few people sharing it around and discussing it. I realized after the fact that if people might find it useful or informative, there's really no reason not to just share my full and complete conversation with Gio before he posted his article.
My honest opinion of the interaction below is that it was generally just very uncomfortable. Even after explicitly stating that I was not comfortable continuing the conversation, he continued pressing me and tried to lock me into answers based on his own conjecture if I continued to not respond. I'm not a journalist and I don't know if this is like considered acceptable and standard journalistic practice, but it made me feel trapped in a conversation I made very clear I was no longer comfortable having.

Okay I've more-or-less sided with Gio, at least on the subject of Hussie and Miles's behavior towards him and Bambosh, but it is really funny to see him start a conversation with "I loathe speculation" knowing full and well he was about to publish an article that just gestures at Austinado leaving DCRC and going "Did HUSSIE HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THIS? HMM?".

Thank you for sharing this, it is quite enlightening.
The conversation further highlights how much Gio is PUSHING his narrative, shoehorning ideas that have nothing to do with what you're saying or what the conversation was supposed to be about.
And to intertwine various interviews in an apparent attempt to induce Shocking Reveals™ is not journalism, no.
man I don't know much about this whole situation but this is coming across very much as "how dare the person who wrote this comic have any involvement with it whatsoever"
god i cringe so hard from him sending multiple messages in a row where he just elaborates on his own speculations and narratives before getting an answer to a simply posed question... like is this guy for real
"One of the reasons i loathe speculation
" Gio says as he is about to publish an article full of speculation. I find this very funny, Thank you Cami for sending the full logs, it's very nice of you. I was a bit worried when you posted what came after for a second, but there isn't much of substance Gio said here. Heck this isn't even much of an interview.
On the conversation itself, it ended a lot quicker than i thought. It was basically just the same leading question constantly being pushed on you. I admittedly assumed that You and Gio had more of a conversation. I don't like how Gio wrote in the article that Hussie might have influence over FRAF, if not now then in the future (Far too much to speculate about with lacking information, Like Gio can't tell that with any degree of certainty, it's at best an educated guess.), considering the fact the most influence the HICU has on FRAF is Miles being in it to handle communications between HICU and FRAF. (And Miles has worked as a direct liaison to Hussie, which as I've stated before i think was a bad idea. Hussie should've gotten someone else to do that who wasn't a part of the HICU after it officially became a thing.) Like i know that Gio has (admittedly good reasons) to assume the HICU is under the influence and control of Hussie (even if just in a Hussie can come in and mandate things to go a certain way in the HICU) But FRAF seems to lack that outside of reasonably of not wanting to piss off Hussie for no reason. So yeah. As I've stated before, Gio really should've delayed the HICU article and maybe reworked it to focus more on past events than current ones he knows nothing about and apparently had no time to look into for whatever reason. (and i mean for whatever reason, i looked into it a bit more here, warning it's 2k words long and it's a reply that transformed into a blog post as i wrote it. Like jeez there's citations, sidenotes, and tangents. https://www.fruityrumpus.com/forums/reply/689ab86eeb0e1f3bca3b6454)
So yeah, this is just bad journalism, the best reasoning i have as to why he did this was because he for whatever reason wanted the articles out by 8/8, no matter what. Which again, is bad journalism. The UHC article doesn't really have this specific problem (It's biased, but that's because it's based on his personal experiences and it's made obvious to the reader, so i have no issues with that. I trust people to realize Gio's obviously displayed bias even if they fully take his side in this.)
Also as a sidenote: i really like the fact Gio went in and corrected a grammar mistake in the about section, how nice of them lmao. (Also again, why is Gio getting information that's this important 2 days before releasing his HICU article, it's very sloppy, not what his writings usually are. Even reading it i felt it was a bit sloppy, especially at the Vast Error bit, literally 1 sentence, why was it a heading.)
Do I agree that Andrew Hussie committed legal abuse by bullying Gio to take the UHC down? Absolutely. Do I also think maybe Gio was acting incredibly in bad faith when he wrote that second article and dragged people who have nothing to do with this into the forefront? Also yes.
And I fear too many people think that these things cannot both be true and that anyone who is a FRAF worker/staffer is just on Andrew Hussie's payroll or something lol.
RE: elegantspinstress
God I WISH I was on Andrew Hussie's payroll. My ass broke as fuck.
I also just think it's a given that Andrew Hussie would be SOMEWHAT involved, but that doesn't mean he's their boss and overseer or whatever. I believe that the HICU and FRAF are independent, but I also don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the guy who started it all, but then stepped back, peeking in now and again. And as far as I'm aware, the HICU and FRAF team have like absolutely nothing to do with the main issue, so it's like why even bring them up if not to just sort of allude to this insane idea that there's this whole organization after you? That's just paranoia lol
And Gio can't even get most of the information he wants from some of these people. I can't just waltz into any business and demand answers about who runs the place, their business practices, who they turn away etc. That ain't none of my business at all. And is like totally illegal to share.
There will probably be an influx of people who come in now demanding why you didn't explain literally everything else in the article even though it's pretty obvious doing that has legal consequences and also I wouldn't expect you to know all of the juicy details anyways but mostly because it's HELLA ILLEGAL and will people please stop asking about it anyways lol?
No one here is a lawyer. Or Andrew Hussie. Or Gio. Or Bambosh. If people want literally ALL of the answers I fear only those people would be able to like tell us anything T_T
"i assume its okay unless you request that it isnt" is a line that gives me just horrendous vibes. idk why its just like. weird
June Eg8ert's #1 Fan. June Egbert's #8 Fan.
Man, Seth and Max have really been pulling double-overtime trying to sort out this mess. I think they're probably still being too charitable to Hussie by claiming he just didn't know what he was doing at first, but I think their judgement on the HICU/FRAF stuff from Gio is hitting on something real.
I still attest that Gio was treated unfairly with regards to the UHC, but I think the biggest victims in all this are the people who just wanted to work on projects without the administrative side fucking around in the background. Bambosh, the original Homestuck^2 team, and whichever devs on Hiveswap faced troubles out of their control. They had passion, and they were punished for it. For...everyone's sake, I hope they're the only ones.

Because it demonstrates exactly how much Gio doesn't care about basic consent or the well-being of other people.
He's paying lip service to it, but in the end, he doesn't give a fuck, and he WILL use whatever he can to further build tin foil hat conspiracy theories.
@Oasis Nadrama it’s muckracking not conspiracy theories get your epithets right

wow. the conduct here from gio is just blindingly unprofessional. which is. not surprising.
Quick clarification cause I saw some people confused elsewhere, the part where I said I wasn't comfortable continuing the conversation is when I say "I'm really not interested in getting FRAF caught up in any drama. My priority here is for the creators first, and if you're about to leak like sensitive info or an NDA to me that could cause trouble I'm really not interested and I'm not really comfortable continuing this conversation.". I was more firm on it later, but I tried to end the conversation here and stopped responding.
After this, where I felt that Gio was locking me into an answer based on his conjecture if I continued not to respond is when he says "It came down to, 'if Andrew objected to a potential affiliate, could it get in anyway?' And it sounds like the answer is no". If I didn't answer, I am pretty sure this is what he would have run with, and it is not accurate as I do correct him on in my following message.
Oh Gio just talks like that full-time. I see.
Magic is FAKE AS SHIT/FUCKING REAL
It's very... Curious to me, the consistent way that Gio talks to transfem creators.
And. If I'm being honest. It's not lost on me how many of his defenders in here are men with shit like "pronouns: male" in their bio, either.
Which could mean nothing. I loathe speculation.
