I love Calliope! I'm a sucker for her polite and rather chintzy manner of speaking. She really does embody her "passive" classpect: Calliope's influence on the story is really subtle, and she does her best work whilst dead. And we get flashes of a very alien outlook from her - like when she says she was fine with being dumped by (one version of) Roxy, since the misery she felt was an interesting cultural experience.
