If we're just doing the kids, my personal ranking:

1. Rose. Cute, charming, funny. her writing is kind of a drag at points but her high points make up for the low.

2. John. Especially when he's talking to Rose, but he's cool on his own too. Hard to pin down anything concrete about him I like, but his writing is fine and he has great moments.

3. Jade. Struggled with her or Dave here. I like them both a lot for different reasons but I think ultimately she wins out, if only because her being out of the spotlight for so much of act 6 meant she had less opportunity to wear on me like Dave did.

4. Dave. Still a great character despite how annoying he could be especially later on. Classic. Loses points for making up his backstory so people would feel bad for him.

5. Roxy. By far the best of the alpha kids, but still doesn't really compare to any of the betas. At least she didn't feel like an outright rehash of any other characters, and she has good shipping potential. Her dialogue can be annoying at points but overall she's fun and cute.

6. Jane. She is pretty boring and feels a little too much like previous characters for her to stand out, especially by the time she's introduced. She has some good moments though. I liked crockertier, I guess. Her design isn't so bad.

7. Jake. I feel bad trashing on him because i have some friends that love him and wish his character was given more room to grow. That definitely would have helped because the Jake we got was super lame, annoying to read both his dialogue and his actions, and felt like an unnecessary addition overall. A poor man's Tavros riding the coattail's of grandpa's badassery.

8. Dirk. Lame. Phony. Bad rehash of Dave's personality but less charming or funny and Vriska's role but less interesting. Stains Bro's otherwise impeccable image, a shame.
