Writting advice for Dave

Okay so I'm writting a fanadventure, Homestuck R, which is like a Homestuck bad future, the general vision is like if post canon happened in homestuck early acts (not literally) and Rose was pushed to a more of a protagonist role.

I think im capable of writting most of the cast of homestuck, but I have so much trouble writting Dave, i just don't have a good grip on his character and i written myself to a corner making him matter a bit more in the next part of the story. If someone would give me advice to write a convincing Dave i would be glad, it be direct advice or recommending someone's analysis and shit like that.

I thought i had a good grip on him but I see now that i don't, I also know that when writting a story not everything should be set in stone, but what im trying to do requires me giving at least a bit of narrative importance to Dave, so I can't just write him off.

(Also in the actual comic i've written two Dave's convos until now, if anyone willing to give me advice wants to know how i'm doing)

Read Homestuck R and Mr Tambourine Man and every work featured in the fraf main site and those who aren't too, because you should READ FANWORKS in general BUT the most important thing is; YOU SHOULD MAKE CREATIVE WORKS, even if you don't think you are capable of drawing or writting a decent story. You should try it regardless, *grabs your hand* I love you. I'm sincerely in love with you. I want to spend the rest of my life non-monogamously with you.
