Title speaks for itself. I just wanted to have a conversation of how cool this whole thing is :P

I don't remember the last time I've seen a fully fledged forum and it's cool that it exists, kinda like how MSPA used to have a forum too. Not that I know what that was like though since I didn't even know what homestuck was when that was still up. Also cool to see certain projects I followed forever ago get full support like this. Cool stuff.

Fully agreed, it was exciting to see some of the MSPFAs I follow get some nice recognition here. And the new forums are rad too, lol, I've so missed forums. Excited to see what the future holds for this fandom!!

i agree!! it really feels like we're paving the way for old homestuck to come back (or at least some sort of old internet thing), in a sense. it's really nice to already see things like silly forum ads for individual projects and people playing forum games even though this thing's only been up for a few hours. actual forums are so rare nowadays that it's so awesome to see one for something as big as homestuck again. i was getting SO tired of discord servers, so i'm a huge fan of this LOL

I am also really excited! I've dipped claws into forums before, mostly with Melonland. A big part of my enjoyment is that during the school year, they tend to be less likely to be blocked than big social media sites... At the same time, though, I've been participating in fandom spaces on Tumblr or Discords for a while now. I'm excited to see how this goes!

I definitely have an interest in the structures and locations of older internet culture, even if I was not really old enough to witness it. I enjoy fast paced chats like Discord, but I have discovered I enjoy posting longer rambles like this to threads and especially sending longer, almost letters to friends I meet in these spaces. I think it's always important to remember that the past isn't necessarily better- The MSPA forum was very entwined with Homestuck, and you can see in the language and humor of the first acts that. Yeah. Not great. Slur replacement mod exists for a reason.

But also, this forum makes it easy to label your pronouns and there is an expectation of respect. I enjoy thinking about the past, but it really, really, REALLY makes me excited seeing dedicated fandom spaces being created with respect and diversity in mind. The forum part is mostly just a fun bonus for me- I look forward to seeing how it goes, and I can't wait to see what tomorrow holds!
