Hey! So I'd like to do periodic Q&A's about the characters, world, and creation process of Autopraxis, in the style of a reddit AMA or Hussie's old formspring. Rather than create a new thread for each Q&A, I'm just gonna set up one pinned thread which will be locked when not in use.
First Q&A starts now, impromptu celebratory FRAF Q&A let's goooooooo
Yooo this rocks so hard! How do you mesh fan suggestions into the story while maintaing (I'm asuming) the overall plot?
Will we hear anything about pizza-hut? we hear alot about dominos so it would be fair to see something about its rival
is it ever going to be expanded on why did Jessprite didn't bring future Adam along, who she "owes her life a dozen times over"
and has "given up more for the cause of the future workers of paradox space than anyone will ever know" ?
Did Jess like underdale? Did anyone else? I need to know their opinions on Underdale. (and maybe if theyd like deltardne if the world ended in nov 2018 but idk...)
what're everyone's favorite youtube videos of the era
"When most people go to the movies, the ultimate compliment for them is to say 'We didn't notice the time pass!' With me, you see the time pass. And feel it pass. You also sense that this is the time that leads towards death, and that's why there's so much resistance. I took two hours of someone's life." -Chantal Akerman
how planned/improvised is the writing of AP (in terms of ratio)? is there anything that you like from what's released of AP at the moment that was in part or mostly serendipitous?
how did you get the idea of 45DP?
So the starting idea was Problem Sleuth Battle Royale, something that would merge the reader-driven compounding mechanical absurdity of problem sleuth with the high stakes and absurd violence of a Hunger Games sim. I wanted a cast of characters I wouldn't have to waste any time establishing or building a relationship with, and ideally something where the readers could jump in and immediately start suggesting that any characters attempt any act of cartoonish brutality they could think of against any other character. US Presidents filled the hole perfectly, and the topic was very on my mind in the run up to the Big Game 2024, and it would allow me to draw on the long tradition of "epic president" humor that was huge in like, the 2000s to early 2010s.

Domino's controls the plurality of global food production, their monopoly on chain-pizza is absolute.

Autopraxis has always been pretty on-rails as far as MSPFAs go, if anything bc we have a lot of ground to cover so I don't like to linger on plot beats longer than feels necessary. That said, I still make an effort to put the characters into open ended dilemmas where comedy and forward momentum can emerge from a variety of inputs so that there's room for readers (and me) to fuck around and make things happen.
does josh like numa numa or chocolate rain
Chocolate rain stirs his heart but numa numa moves his soul
Plans for more interactive flashes?
I think you'll enjoy act 3

Moment-to-moment I follow where the praxmuse takes me but never doubt how many irons I have in the fir

There seems to be a lot we've yet to learn about what all went down in Jessprite's original session.
what's the most surprising audience reaction you've gotten?
whats jesses favorite fallout new vegas ending ?
Hi Ro8in. I and many others have pepe sylvia'd all over your beautiful discord connecting dots on basically any media that gets mentioned in Prax and its connections to the characters' arcs and overall thematic picture of the work. Without giving too much away about future plot, do you have a particular process for choosing these sorts of intertextual elements?

I'm always impressed how quickly some of our more attentive readers can key in on a character's general "deal" from just a hand-full of conversations.
whats jesses favorite fallout new vegas ending ?
I'm not gonna say but I bet you could guess

It varies case-by-case but ultimately a lot of it is downstream from trying to find the most meaningful and interesting answer to "what should go on this character's wall."
