Me and some folks in the official Discord were talking about the structure of Homestuck, which lead to us asking Vibri (server owner) if she could make an org chart to explain all the branches of Homestuck. And so she did!
She said that it was "late night tldrs so it could be a bit hazy", but regardless, this should be a pretty good summary of what all the different groups do.

Some extra notes and clarifications, for those unaware:
The rights to Homestuck were bought by Viz media at one point, which is why Vibri made a note that they no longer own the rights to it.
"Furthest Ring Studios" is the organization that was formerly known as the "Homestuck Independent Creative Union", i.e. "HICU".
There are other companies such as Topatoco and Requiem Cafe which do official merch/collabs with Homestuck but aren't included on the chart (which is fair because if all such collabs were included the chart would be MASSIVE.)
This org chart is about the CURRENT state of Homestuck and doesn't go over the groups that historically existed (Such as "What Pumpkin" and its many subsidiaries that were, practically speaking, the "official Homestuck" for a while.)
Also keep in mind that my summary is also a late night TL;DR from someone who only has secondhand knowledge of the stuff.
Wow, this is close to what I was asking for in the Furthest Ring thread. Thanks to Vibri, I suppose. The way Margot brought her up a while back I assumed Cindy had been gone from the brand. I'm looking at the rest of the conversation now, and it does paint more of a picture as to how some of Homestuck's history happened (to be clear, it still looks like Hiveswap's money was mismanaged by Andrew alone). Hearing that ViZ basically went no-contact due to laying off everyone who gave a shit about Homestuck definitely sounds plausible. I hope that means Hussie buying them out of their deal didn't come at that crazy a price then, since Vibri seems to imply he's no longer a millionaire anymore. If Furthest Ring/HICU were acting in-place of a vacant official Homestuck team, that would explain why stuff like the UHC fork and Gio's shit happened, without Hussie necessarily being an owner and/or beneficiary of that company...though I'd still like to hear whether they do own any part of Furthest Ring.
I've still got questions, but if this is part of the "greater transparency" they've promised, it is a good start.

Don't really have much to add, i just agree with what Devin said here. But yeah, thanks for the transparency. This does clear things up.
idk guuuuys theres no line connecting FRS and HSO so im pretty sure its not owned in any part by hussie and just many people are involved in multiple projects out of friendship and passion like ive been saying
but its just a chart made by a discord mod so i guess we may neveeer know![]()

@Autumn
There is a line there???
Like, I don't mean to sound rude or condescending or anything, but there's a line connecting HSO to that little text jutting out of Spindleroo.
Anyway, idk if I'm naive or something for this, but I believe the credits from Spidleroo. They say Hussie's the EP and cowriter, and I believe that.
I understand All of the time travel in Homestuck. All of it.

@patthem FRS and HSO aren't connected at all in the image though? Did you confuse some of the names maybe?

Oh shit, I'm stupid. For some reason I thought she was talking about Spindleroo.
I understand All of the time travel in Homestuck. All of it.

This confirms my impression that it's more "informal links" than "sinister corporate spiderweb."
