A Sburb False Session is created when a game is initiated without any players, running in a location that does not qualify as anyone's domicile. Incomplete, poorly implemented, or sabotaged software may also lead to the creation of a False Session.

Without any players, the game will seek out players on its own. While these players are part of a closed loop (like all players), they do not have any role in initializing the game, and will be plucked from outside their normal place of dwelling. Without domiciles, the game can't create Planets and without Sprites, it can't create Underlings. The Royalty also do not show up in a False Session. Without these key components, the game will still attempt to make the session viable and will settle on the only component added to the game: The players themselves.

The players will be placed on two teams and the Battlefield will be shaped by them and their desires. Each player is granted a Stronghold with surrounding territory and within that Stronghold, they have free reign to shape it as they wish. As a result, rather than attempting to challenge the players to theoretically make them better people like Planets do, the Strongholds will serve mainly to indulge their fantasies of unlimited power.

The result of such a session is currently unknown. The players, assuming they survive to the end, will be ejected at different points in the timestream. Should the Reckoning occur within their lifetimes, they will likely be selected as Guardians for later players of a more standard session.

The only known False Session was created by a US military experiment at a base in Okinawa c. 1963, called Project RED KING. It was named after the character from Alice who dreamed a world into existence. The RED KING mainframe was decommissioned following the experiment and the facility was entombed in concrete.

The players were a private who lied about his age named Leon Durante, the daughter of a couple who lived on base named Cloe Garcia, the child of a vacationing couple from Texas named Sisi Graham, and a local bancho named Goro Arakawa.

Thank you, Mythril! It's a background element to Sburb², but the way things are going, I'll probably end up writing about them as well. They're the precursors and guardians to my current characters, who have just started finding out about the RED KING session.

this is such a fun concept!! the part that is no domicile is really interesting to me as someone who doesn't have a permanent residence. that then makes me wonder what the game would then consider a domicile - the name itself would imply that person's permanent indefinite residence, but then what about friends who come over to local play and create a false session? how would a game start with no players? imagine living your normal life not even knowing about sburb but then suddenly you're the person in a stronghold. this is an awesome concept i love it!!!

>> You get the feeling that this person misses their wife, Tails. Misses them a lot. Who is Tails? You're not sure.
