random thought and no idea if this has been asked before but could you possibly start a sburb session from within a sburb session? like if you had/alchemized another computer and sburb copy could you enter another session?? or would sburb account for that and just block it or something

I think the answer to this would be: if Skaia allows it. Functionally, there’s no reason it shouldn’t work, but if it’s not destined to happen it won’t happen, and chances are Skaia would never deem it necessary.

I think with the knowledge of mechanics that we have as of now I'd say it isnt really possible, however impossible things can happen especially if it would be really funny and i think the inevitable inception jokes that would come about is reason enough for it to happen (you probably would need to coordinate with someone within your session though to have two games that could connect given the whole apocalypse thing i dont think you could connect to someone else's game unless done beforehand which i guess could still be done but also requires. coordination.)

Actually now that I think about it, you would know ahead of time if it would lead to a doomed timeline or not based on whether there are meteors. again, functionally there’s no reason you couldn’t start Sburb, but there’s no way Skaia would condone such a thing.

@Jacqueline - I find the idea of Carapacians in particular getting to play their own session fascinating. I'm trying to work this in as a side plot in something I'm writing. There's also a MSPFA called "Ringscape" which has Carapacian players. Neither of these start from within Sburb, though.

I feel like it sort of violates the "exchange rate" Sburb operates on - one planet's civilization is destroyed in exchange for the creation of a universe, with the medium being a place where that universe incubates. This all operates on cosmic magic rather than an actual energy exchange rate, so it's not really proof that it "can't" happen, but if it worked Sburb probably would have it built in already, right?
It would be interesting to try it anyway and see what happens, though. Getting stuck within a vestigial infertile microsession.
