So, it's been a while since I have read Bobo's introductory logs, so maybe the evidence is something I dont remember. But why are people determined that Bobo is transgender? Is it because of his hair?
I see people taking the discussion on how "masc" Bobo's hair is as confirmation, but I think I'm the only one who didnt? I didnt think Rose commenting on how long his hair is was an affirmation of him being transgender, I thought it was sort of commenting on the Gender Essentialism of "boy hair short girl hair long." Because it is Gender Essentialist. the whole conversation with her and Dirk reminded me of my dad literally last week telling me to be "careful" about the length of my hair so i dont end up looking like a different gender (eugh). My parents are always telling me to "be careful" with my hair, so forgive me for having a more negative interpretation of the conversation cus it reminded me of that rip.
Also in different cultures men, having long hair is more a gender neutral thing, so I dont feel like hair alone is evidence. This is especially evident because yknow, theyre Aliens with a different culture than us users.
If anyone can explain to me any potential subtext I missed, I'd love to hear it. I want everyone to know I'm not against the possibility, (hell i easily clocked Del'fi as being a pre-transition person and im rooting for a gender transition arc lol rip) I just would like to hear people's reasonings for why it's the same for Bobo.
If anything, I feel like The Mountain is might have something going on. He's the one with the Satyr Divine poster in his dream room. Macho wrestler having an admiration for a drag queen? he also expressed having a metaphorical weight on his shoulders? he's friends with the transgender allegory in the room? queer people do tend to gravitate towards each other even if it isn't obvious at first. Maybe The Mountain isnt trans but I feel like maybe The Mountain wants to break free from the hypermasculine role he's in at the very least. Its just a theory tho. Maybe once I get a proper introduction I can pick him and Bobo apart more
