john is right about candy

i was watching like an old Casey james video essay about the homestuck epilogues, and it was a good video, especially considering the drought of actual analysis of homestuck, but they came to the conclusion that john is wrong about candy and everyone is just living the way they want and john is just mad about change. but my problem is that it doesn't make sense. like first of all, the last chapter of candy pretty explicitly reveals that alt calliope was the narrator through her conversation with aradia, and i think the john is wrong and calliope is the narrator twists work together, because if calliope is manipulating the story, than john is right that candy is wrong. also, the evidence is just lackluster. the only example is roxy, which is only true if you interpret her lines as casey does, which i dont think was the intention. also, thats only one example. it ignores the fact that gamzee is being gamzee, time is literally moving faster, dave being stuck in a relationship he hates, rose not becoming ultimate, and if candy = bad is just john's delusion, WHY DID DIRK KILL HIMSELF? if candy is just like meat but john is sad than dirk would behave similarly and try to take control, but there obviously has to be some difference or else DIRK WOULD JUST ACT LIKE HE DOES IN MEAT. instead, calliope is revealed to be the narrator on the last page. and you could interpret that as referring to meat, calliope isnt hiding behind black text in meat. she specifically switches from red to black to show aradia, but in meat she just narrates in red and is open about being calliope. calliope is already an avid fanfiction writer, so itd make sense for the universe under her control to be like a bad fanfiction. i guess this post is irrelevant since the video is 2 years old now and i think its stance was the unpopular one.
