Jade and Yiffy being dogs as a metaphor for being trans

I saw some interesting thoughts about this in the HSOD so I figured that I should make a thread here about it.

The line of thinking I found most interesting is that Jade feels the need to keep the whole Yiffy affair a secret in order to not out herself as trans. And how in general she does not want Yiffy to show her ears and tail because they made people treat Jade differently. And how despite all that Yiffy is open about being a dog and is not trying to hide it idk. I feel like that is a pretty good metaphor for being trans and the varying perspectives people have about it. I also saw someone point out that basically immediately after Jade becomes a dog John says something weird about it :( and that would most likely sour her perspective on the whole thing.
