I wanted to share a topic I've been thinking about. First, I should state the idea that when I say "bullshit", I don't mean in a sort of real world context where we question The actual ideas of these being executed in reality. But rather, that are the quadrants, as they are displayed in Troll culture and the webcomic itself, kind of stupid?
Quadrants originally feel like they were poking fun of 'shipping'. But I feel like the Quadrants themselves are almost a reflection of this idea of trying to define real relationships with easy words. We see many examples of the webcomic where people can fit into many quadrants or where it's messy and it's hard to define what quadrant they'd be- and really, doesn't that suggest a more complicated idea than how Troll romance is portrayed?
So much of the series feels like it is actively dismantling both ideas of Alterian culture (violence, brutal) and our own by doing that as a result. Is it a stretch to think that the Quardrants is another aspect of that?
