Hussie vs UHC - Is this, like... actually true?

On the off-chance someone accuses me of this, I'm not being paid off by anyone to post this. I just think we shouldn't be so quick to get angry at Hussie over this. It really feels like people are looking for an excuse to hate them and every once in a while they get the chance to just let it all out, whether it's actually true, embellished, or completely false. (Re; the Sarah Z video.)

One thing that personally adds to the confusion of the situation, is that I can still see (I won't link it directly in case mentioning it would mess something up), an official fork of the collection up, along with the asset pack being downloadable still, which are both kinda weird if the collection is going down imho.

According to Gio's blogpost, that's the HICU upload of it.

I just took another look at the blog post, all of the Discord stuff is text recreations. TEXT RECREATIONS. That is so insanely not verifiably credible evidence!! That's really shady!!

For what it's worth, Gio's fork on Github is ALSO still up.

It's like...... Its so messy. Gio clearly doesn't like hussie, and whenever he talks about hussie I always want to give the articles he writes with many grains of salt because of it, and I havent finished the article but there doesn't seem to be any screenshots of anything which makes me not trust it even more. If this is all true, it's a genuinely shitty thing for Hussie and the Homestuck Brand (eugh, I hate calling homestuck a brand) to have pulled, but I just have trouble trusting gio at his word.

okay my page reloaded and im not retyping in that amount of detail what i was going to say BUT

it seems way too believable to me. like if its bait then its way too elaborate and detailed to play the long con on that. also do you have sources for gio lying in the past? and i thought that sarah z's vid came with receipts and evidence...

i'm still gonna wait for the team to address it like victoria said but for now (until gio or someone involved with him says its fake, or the team is able to successfully prove it wrong) i'll believe it.

If the HICU upload is still gonna be kept up, then I'm honestly, unsure how much this matters to homestuck as a whole tbh.

and if i'm allowed to double post -- i do agree that the discord things not being hard proof but rather reconstructions is shady. either post the screenshots or admit that that part is more spotty due to correspondences being deleted, or something (since he mentions that channels were deleted/privated and recreated)

Sullying Hussie's reputation, mostly. The Homestuck fanbase is a very volatile one that already doesn't like Hussie and would jump at the opportunity to hat them. I've heard word that Gio is kind of a transmisogynist, and Hussie is notably some variety of not cis, though take that with a grain of salt as that's all secondhand.

yeah the stuff with the Sarah z video really kinda ruined well one my enjoyment of any of her videos since then but also to just inherently trust this guy because he makes long blog posts and acts like the Sole Source of the real information when. idk if you guys where there or remember. but one of the big issues was that Sarah z made No Effort to contact anyone on the team whatsoever and Aysha being upset that she was never so much as given the chance to present her side of the story

I was not aware of the situation with UHC or anything, but everything in the blog posts lines up completely with my knowledge of how things have been run. This is just the most egregious ecample in a while (at least until SAHcon happens later this year and it turns out it's completely gutted which seems likely)

Very saddening situation. Immensely disappointed in Hussie, but it's not like they care about their reputation either way

Hussie has a pattern of antisocial behavior (see: Hussie suing Sarah Z). Giovanh is not the sort of person to make this stuff up- using text transcriptions instead of screenshots is not ideal since it gives plausibly deniability in a sense but I have no reason to think that they are fabircated. It explains why Jamea Roach left for unspecified "health reasons" recently and why Funk was ousted from SaHCON with Jonaya being unable to say who made that call specifically.

It's a real shame that Hussie just can't actually leave things be and let fans run things.

Given that at every single point in the article Gio INSISTS on using he/him for Hussie even when directly quoting statements that use they/them, I would be hardpressed not to believe that transmisogyny is involved.

Re;deltrius, try to wait for more people to corroborate Gio's story before being so quick to believe it.

Obviously I can't weigh in on anything that I don't know, but from what I do know, I can say confidently with the information I have that there are multiple accounts in this article of Gio valuing his conjecture over information from his actual sources.

This is a fucking strange situation, and I don't really know who I should believe.
