"For now, these are the pairings, which are staggered a bit in probably an unpredictable way. Lord and muse are the extremes, but aside from that, there's some weird stuff going on. The maid/heir pair are both fully on the passive side, and witch/sylph are fully on the active side. All the others are split between active and passive, but the gap begins to narrow as you progress."

you gotta wonder how long theyve been waiting on dropping this metaphorical bomb
because both "many years" and "a few minutes" are equally plausible

re: autumnwyvern
there is also a chance they never waited and this metaphorical bomb was one they just randomly threw out due to the Demands of the People. we never know with The Huss.
I actually like this arrangement of them, even though it's quite different from my previous understanding. The one that sticks to me is Knight as active and Page as passive.

The answer is "years" because I believe James Roach alluded to its existence in the past.
Also this lore means nothing to me lol I still don't understand this stuff
i have to wonder when exactly the document was written. it was mainly mentioned around the time of post canon which is probably just because of roach and whatnot, but i wonder if it was made around the time of postcanon for outlines or for the new team and is based on previous notes, or if it was around long before in some form
i am very intrigued in the history of a one page document
BladekindEyeware is gonna see this and shit themself. They were right about virtually everything lmao.
(the twist of heir and maid not only being paired up but BOTH being passive is weird tho. I still like the idea of heir and witch being connected, and im curious as to why heir and maid are (heir serves a throne, maid serves a master?). i suppose it's not the worst thing in the world (and Kanaya did say a Sylph was basically a more magical Witch so the two of those being a pair I can at least get)

what i found interesting about maid and heir is that we have two examples of a connection between maids and heirs. equius's obsession with aradia, and john and jane being related to eachother.
i updated my guide btw https://rosespecting.tumblr.com/post/792817810256560128/new-classpecting-guide
didn't have to change a ton, mostly going from my main theory to my secondary theory, but it was a lot of fun! i'm really glad to finally have this concretely established so i never have to argue about pairs and stuff again
the epilogues are the best part of homestuck
I KNEW MAIDS AND HEIRS WERE A PAIR I FEEL SO VINDICATED IM SO HAPPY I KNEW IT!!!!!

I'm honestly not that surprised by these. We already knew 3 of the pairs, and the remaining 4 do kinda make sense.
Mage/Seer was long speculated, and Knight/Page also makes sense with what we more recently learned about Pages "Fight[ing] to Protect". The non-passive/active splits are a little suppressing, but, again, with the vague passive/active stuff not being what ppl think stuff we got from the q&a, I kinda get it.
Sylph/Witch is... Interesting. Beyond the "Sylphs are more magical Witches" thing, I don't quite see what Sylphs do to serve their aspect. I guess Aranea literally serves (dishes out) knowledge, but Light isn't technically knowledge, it's fortune.
But Heir/Maid on the other hand, actually really makes sense. I kinda see it as growing through/growing [aspect]. I always saw Maids as overseeing/ taking care of [aspect], but this isn't a huge shift. Heirs are all about growth and maturing, and Maids' arches are about growing their aspect in their session (or wherever they are).
I understand All of the time travel in Homestuck. All of it.

I had always paired Witch and Sylph, but assumed Sylph was therefore in the "passive" half of the spectrum. From this, it looks like it's actually the least active of the "Active" classes. I may need to rethink the Sylph of Time I've been brewing up. (On the plus side, my Witch of Blood is my most active-acting player, so that's fine.)
got bandersnatches? i,uh, can handle that for you,
