I'm looking at the few times significantly removed variations of the same character have interacted in post canon and trying to gauge how I think these interactions will continue as they crop up more and more in Beyond Canon.
My main theory is as the gap in age widens the gap in relevance does as well with the younger more canonical versions of the characters being treated as less real by their older less relevant counterparts. The two that lend precedence being Meat June's feelings regarding the teen versions of his friends gathered for Caliborn's masterpiece, and most recently Davebot's involvement in the recent flash.
