How much do the Homestuck related shit teams use NDAs? Like, it would be very in character for Hussie's litigious ass to be make every sign those bitches all the time, and yet, I see a lot of people just kinda,, talkin about things. Idk.

i have no idea. I doubt this discord mod would even have this information if it wasnt directly given to them by the hiveswap team or hussie to share at this moment

Well NDAs are pretty bog standard in the world of media arts, and generally cover just "dont spoil game details to people" or "dont mention you are working on this until the first trailer drops" and "dont give away specifics on how our studios do X Y Z (usually with some bespoke software)" but that Doesnt matter for like. Previews, teasers, trailers etc because those are like. Marketing. those are very intentionally given to ppl to share to generate hype and interest. This is very clearly a planned announcement in the official discord server to give people news on what is happening. Extremely normal

I am surprised to see this, given that SAHcon is in a week and that's when we last heard we would be receiving Hiveswap news. Are we going to get something tomorrow, and then more in a week, or is this replacing that?

Also, with regards to NDAs: as far as I can tell, nobody has had to sign one for being a discord mod. Munroe here has a discord role signaling that he's on the Hiveswap team anyway though.
