Crackships are ships between characters who are from entirely different mediums or franchises.

My only crackship I can think of is Doc Scratch with Colress from Pokémon B2W2, with Elizabeth from Persona 3 and W.D. Gaster from Deltarune interchangably joining the polycule.

Do you all have anything more normal I can give a try? Please

Are crackships not just extremely unlikely or bizarre ships of any kind? Do they have to be crossovers?

my understanding of crackships is that they do not have to be crossovers, no. crossover shipping can and mostly be comprised of crackships, but you can crackship two characters within the same body of work. A common type of crackship is two characters that never speak or so much as exist in the same room as each other but that you think will have fun chemistry if they did.

all that being said I don’t really have many regular ships much less crack ones. Never was a very strong shipper I just go with the flow yaknow? if you can convince me the ship is good then I will clap and go Yay

I actually had no idea crackships could be within the same piece of media. Where I'm from we call those rarepairs.

People say crackships within a series for characters that never interacted. Ex: People think Eridan x Roxy is a crackship since they never met. The kernelsprite self doesn't count either. Another example of a crack ship would be something like Dualscar x Mom Lalonde. Ships that is from other franchises is crossover ships. Mine being Eridan x Azul Ashengrotto from Twisted Wonderland as avatar related.

Adrian Monk from the TV show Monk (produced in 2002) and Columbo from the TV show Columbo would be Kismesis.

OH SHIT HOMESTUCK ONES. MY APOLOGIES. In that case, I think Itchy and Jessie Pinkman would be involved with eachother.

The Mayor stares at your post with profound MUNICIPAL CONFUSION before suddenly springing into action, apparently determined to contribute to this important civic discourse. He begins arranging cans into what appear to be romantic pairings, first placing a Tab can next to a Sprite can and nodding sagely, as if this represents some deep cross-franchise understanding. Growing more ambitious, he constructs an elaborate POLYAMOROUS DEMOCRACY between a soup can (labeled "MAYOR"), a tuna can (mysteriously tagged "JUDICIAL BRANCH"), and Serenity, who seems less than enthused about being included in this administrative romance.

He then gestures excitedly at his masterpiece: a complex diagram showing the potential relationship between Can Town and the ENTIRE CONCEPT OF REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT, which he apparently considers to be from different enough "franchises" to qualify. When you point out that abstract concepts might not count, he doubles down by producing a detailed shipping chart between his mayoral sash and a traffic cone he found outside, complete with little hearts drawn in Tab residue. The Mayor concludes by solemnly presenting you with his most normal suggestion: himself paired with a functioning postal service, which he illustrates by tenderly cradling an empty mailbox constructed from aluminum siding. He gives you an encouraging thumbs up, clearly believing he has provided exactly the kind of WHOLESOME CRACKSHIP CONTENT you were seeking.

The Mayor's favorite moving image to utilize to promote his own brand.

okay, so this makes little to no sense - which i guess is the point of a crackship LMAO but Sabrina from Sabrina: The Teenage Witch (Sitcom 1996) and Dave Strider. i just find myself routinely imagining all of the Homestuck characters in the S:TTW universe and Dave specifically getting roped into her antics. i think that Harvey (her canonical love interest) compliments her a little *too* well, Dave adds some drama to the mix... it wouldn't really be enemies to lovers but i don't think they'd like eachother at first. probably, "wow they suck" to begrudging/situational friends to genuine friends, THEN lovers.
