No offense to the team, but they made a bad call.
Here's a timeline of events for the HSBC update release:
0) They announced on 8/27 that the update would release on 8/29 at 3:00 PM EST
1) 3:00 PM EST came and went without the update
2) A few minutes later, they announced they would be streaming the update to HS Official Discord's event stage (instead of premiering online)
3) The event stage crashed due to technical failures, so they just put out the update online anyway
Let's run through the problems.
#1 was kinda disappointing
#2 was infuriating. It would have been nice to know this beforehand so I could plan accordingly
#3 was arguably not their fault but compounded with all the other problems
Because of the disruptions and my busy schedule today, I have still not seen the update flash all the way through and likely won't for a few hours. Which is a shame, because from what I've seen so far, it looks amazing and is probably going to be my favorite HSBC flash. But I probably won't be showing up minute 1 for these releases for a while, until I can be sure the releases will be punctual and the team will be upfront about where they're premiering.
TL;DR: They should have been more punctual and announced the HSOD exclusive premiere beforehand.
