Hope you enjoy yourself!
I also read Homestuck for the first time fairly recently and as a legally-an-adult, so I can confirm it's still super fun even under those conditions. A couple... unsolicited pieces of advice, I guess?:
Pay attention to details. This a story that rewards having a good memory, and may expect you to remember something that happened a while ago without reminders.
If there are concepts or characters to which your initial reaction is "I don't like this", give them a chance. They may surprise you. (Not referring to anything in particular here, just Homestuck in general.)
Also, I know this is a weird and perhaps rude thing to say to someone saying "I'm chronicling my reaction to Homestuck", but if you haven't already, and aren't too far along in Homestuck, I might actually recommend reading the author's previous story, Problem Sleuth, first? It's short (relative to Homestuck), very fun, introduces some running gags, and, IMO, acts as a good lead-in to Homestuck. Being as spoiler-free as possible, the beginning of Homestuck is much more Problem Sleuth-esque than Homestuck-esque. In my experience, reading PS first made it feel more like a gradual transition, rather than being thrown in the deep end of a pool at the start of a driving lesson. (There's also the first two MS Paint Adventures, Jailbreak and Bard Quest, but they're... not great.)
Regardless, I really hope you enjoy! It's a great story.
Good luck. Hope you enjoy it !!

"The tall, slender plumes of the fountains among the marble sculptures."
dont skip the intermission! its going to seem weird, unrelated, and maybe a little boring, but its actually quite fun and interesting. also... important to the plot later. have fun on your read! and when you get tired, remember, just keep clicking!!

Homestuck has existed for ~16+ years. Some people have been around longer if they started with Problem Sleuth's original run (or earlier.) I mean, Hussie (author and original creator of Homestuck) is 46 and has been making shit for a long time.
While there are a lot of teenagers running around in the greater Homestuck ecosphere, it's still likely got a pretty even split between age groups just because of how long Homestuck has been around; I was once a terminally online teenager reading Homestuck, now i'm 23, still terminally online, still like Homestuck. 22 isn't old in general and it certainly isn't 'old' around this fandom. If anyone acts otherwise they're being purposefully dense.
TT: It's also obvious because you're me, and I'm sure I would be constantly fucking with my own head if I were you.
WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT SKIP THE INTERMISSION! my username makes it obvious i'm very not normal about it and it's for a REASON (the reason is. it's good)
