I hear a lot of people say that the later acts are their favorite parts but really the earlier stuff is my favorite. I prefer the smaller cast and the sense of mystery in the kids figuring out how to complete quests specific to their worlds before the trolls came in. Then all the rules got thrown away and it all became completely balls-2-walls pants chucked to the breeze with reckless abandon NUTS where literally everything happens LOL. I get that's important to Homestuck's story and it was still fun but sometimes it felt like a lot to keep track of and I kind of miss the more grounded parts of Homestuck. I'm due for a re-read and next time around it might change how I feel but for the time being.. #Unpopular?

i totally agree!! i can't deny that the later acts have their own charm and feeling to them, and while i Do think it is very unique and cool, i just can't deny that i have so much more fun reading the earlier acts. it feels so much more humble, really being alongside the beta kids as they explore and discover, and the strangenesses of sburb are unveiled and discovered. not to mention, it's also Really funny
