In [S] 8r8k, we see Davepeta seemingly becoming momentarily unstable twice over the 8 year period. While this could just be a bit of visual humor (I’d probably come close to exploding if I had to be Vriska’s therapist for 8 years), I feel like this could be hinting towards something that’ll happen in the future.

I sure hope not! Davepeta is one of my fav characters. I honestly wasn't expecting them to ever be relevant again so I don't feel like I can complain if they aren't around much in the future, but I sure would like them to be! Perhaps in whatever this fanontinuum thing ends up being

I don't think so. Spritesplosions are for truly irrrrrrrrreconcilable personalities, and Dave and Nepeta are pretty chill. They're the most ultimately chill one can be!

i do think the nepeta seen hosting the intermission is already an actual post-davepeta nepeta. because that entire set is just nepeta's ultimate self, and the nepeta that appeared in canon is obviously the one on stage, who is wearing familiar shades. the sort of “ultimate nepeta”, even though the ultimate self isn't actually a state so much as an innate metaphysical body of characterization from which all different versions of a character emanate. this nepeta has the sort of demeanor that comes from having been dave for a while to me.
