Wanted a place to share some of the photos I took at NYCstuck this year! Wish I had taken more and talked to more people, honestly, but that just means I have even more to look forward to next time! It was a super fun time, honestly kinda magical? I know that sounds silly but it was! Being around so many people all excited and passionate about Homestuck, seeing so much creativity and joy, it was incredible. Seriously can't wait for the next Homestuck event I get to go to :>
I went dressed as my clownsona! Didn't get an exact outfit, but I really liked the outfit I did manage to put together. I also found out that I quite like putting on the clown makeup even though I'm not a fan of regular makeup lol
Got to stand by the standees! Honestly, wish I had gotten better pictures lol. That's okay though, getting to see the standees in person was pretty awesome! They were so smallllll
Lots of people were drawing with chalk on Day 1, both in and around the venue. Didn't get pictures of it, but it was also fun seeing all the drawings people did in the dust on the windows lol. In the bookshop at industry city we saw so many little drawings on the windows, it was very cute.
Lot of great cosplayers on Day 1!! I didn't get to see the whole showcase, but I was around in time for the group photo at the end. As well as the free time! There were a lot of great cosplayers during the freetime!
I really adored the Beyond Canon Roxy and Callie cosplayers!! I believe one of these is our very own wolfkitty? I talked to them later in the day and it was super nice! Hope you're doing well wolfkitty :>
This dirkjake couple was also adorable! Earlier during some trivia, a vriska cosplayer was asked to come up and said "shout out to my wife!" pointing to a terezi cosplayer. Then this dirk was asked to come up and said "shout out to my husband!" and pointed to the jake cosplayer! It was adorable. I also loved the NYCstuck Jade cosplayer in the wheelchair. Great outfit.
Slight aside, but my friends needed to kind of bully me into bringing my walker to NYCstuck as I was initially just going to bring a cane for fear of social stigma. Not only did no one make any mean comments or even give any weird looks about my walker, but there were other folks with a walker, canes, wheelchairs... I felt a lot less alone in that crowd, and that was cool. Small moment, but when I was talking to Miles my cane fell and he asked "can I get that for you" rather than just, y'know, going to grab it without saying anything, and that was just very considerate. Talking to Miles was cool as hell, very cool and chill dude lol.
Got a picture from this awesome Diamonds Droog cosplayer! There were a couple Spades Slicks and Jack Noirs as well, but I was so happy to see a Diamonds cosplayer! His outfit and attitude just ruled as well.
This PM cosplayer was awesome as well. They actually had mail in the mailbox and gave some to me!! The mail never fails :)
Shockingly, I won the raffle! Or, was one of the winners! That was so freaking awesome!!! I'm still kind of in awe at that, but it was just an incredible experience! I've got John with me now, right next to Kanya and Aradia! I also have Vriska, but I'm not sure where she is. It's somewhat frightening!
Last thing I want to share is this sketch of Jade that Floral gave me! I talked to floral for a bit about jade and beyond canon in general and art and just, a bunch of stuff. She said I was so sweet to talk to that she wanted to sign something for me, but I didn't have anything, so they drew this sketch! It's so cute!! I actually drew my own version of it on day 2 to give in exchange and floral asked if they could hug me which was very adorable. Honestly the whole team that I talked to ran the gambit from being incredible sweet and kind to being incredible cool and chill and funny. And all of them were interesting to talk to, you can really tell how much they all care about the comic and Homestuck as a community. Anyway, this is my favorite thing from the whole trip.
