I'm not sure if anyone else has talked about this yet but recently I've been really missing WeLoveFine/ForFansByFans? I know that official Homestuck merch is still being sold on Topatoco but not near as much as FFBF had. I'm always on the lookout for old T-Shirts or other official merch on second-hand sites but it's always just ridiculously expensive. I know a lot of it is rare to come by, but old t-shirts and books are getting sold for upwards of $100 and some of the rarer, more high-quality merch goes for around $350-$450. I'm holding onto hope that during this Homestuck renaissance we might get a new home for official Homestuck merch and the ability for fans to submit their fanart to become posters and T-shirts again like how it was on FFBF.

i would kill for the old wlf merch to come back. a few years back i got rid of a bunch of stuff i had from those days and i regret it soooo much. </3 so much of it is just virtually impossible to find nowadays, like i hardly ever see the plush horns or the aspect bed sheets or the spirograph necklace go up for sale. but then ill see things like the lil cal plush backpack get listed on ebay for like $400 which is insaaaaaaaane.
it really is sad, not just for homestuck but for everything they collaborated with really, how things went for that site. (especially since WeLoveFine as a brand apparently still exists? target sells things with that on the label anyway??) I'm not gonna blame Goodsmile for everything but. Sure seems like every time something cool gets bought out it gets shitty and/or is shuttered. But especially in regards to homestuck its just heartbreaking with how all-out they went for 413 and the like. I hope you have a good solid job now intern terezi, I'll never forget those absurdly difficult puzzles you crafted.
I have 3/4ths the consort plushes, a handful of shirts, (I used to have the OLD pre-WLF space hoodie but i lost it as well as my MUSE concert hoodie in a move and I'm still pissed about it a decade later), and uh. Well. I technically still have my scalemate hoodie. I tended to carry it with me when I went to work and uh. well. If you heard the story I've mentioned in other threads you can probably guess what happened :1 held up surprisingly well but does need a bit of fixing up on some seams and uh. is still stained despite best efforts
I will say that it has definitely made me feel super grateful for all the stuff I do have. I have all the paperback and hardcover books, a few t-shirts, a poster, the joey claire hoodie with horns, all 4 figures, and the scalemate cape. I really want the scalemate hoodie or the scalemate boxers but they're like impossible to find. I also gave some of my Homestuck merch away before I went to college and I regret it so much :(

The early years of the WLF selection were such a golden age for merch it's kinda unreal. It was prolly an unsustainably vast array of stuff that gradually declined along with the company at large, but it was so nice while it lasted. I still treasure my Hero of Blood zip hoodie, though it's long since begun to wear in various spots. So I'd love a chance to replace it.
I want a replacement for my old cute hot topic shirt. Copies are like $100 online though on Ebay and I'm just like oh this was like 20 dollars when i got it. :/
i wasnt even there and i miss it :'v when i was reading homestuck for the first time i would go on internet archive and look at all kinds of old homestuck stuff that doesnt exist anymore, including the welovefine stuff, and it was so cool.. it is such a shame they dont really exist anymore.

I miss the WLF store a ton. I'm super glad I got a good few shirts and plushies before they went out... But they also used to have a wishlist that you could share with others, and that's how my friends and I went about getting each other birthday gifts! It was also cool seeing all of the art contests they did; they always spurred a flood of new fanart on tumblr. I should've bought that Prospit/Derse mousepad I had my eyes on way back then. :(

That was before my time... by the time I got into Homestuck, it was already a merch desert. What with Homestuck being such an online thing, it'd be nice to have some little reminders of it out here in meatspace. I'm hoping the new explosion of Pop Culture Relevance might lead to some new deals along that line. One thing about the online indie animation boom is, those people are absolute maniacs for merchandising opportunities.

So Update:
In the new QnA video they did announce a new Homestuck merch store! I am so unbelievably excited and I'm so happy that Homestuck is going to have an official home for its merchandise again and so soon. The new question is, will we see any of the old merch that is still in high demand make a return? Or, will those items just be lost to time, and only if you're lucky you will see them resold on ebay for the price of your firstborn child. Realistically, the new store is just going to have merch related to the pilot, at least at first, but I hope HS:BC merch will get sold too. I am holding on to the hope that maybe we will see the return of some old favorites and that this new store can live up to the legacy of WLF/FFBF.
