Almost all drawn in MSpaint but still beautiful, amazing character development, cool as fuck new lore to Alternia, grody vibes, hilarious writing, uncomfortable writing, a fantastic villain, and characters you get attached to.

Read it! Experience the Alabaster cycle of disgusted and offput to getting invested in the story and characters.

Alabaster is so good. it really captures the insanity and freedom of troll worldbuilding in a way I've almost never seen in anything else, because it really was started all the way back when trolls were new and before all the common headcanons had been set in stone!

alabaster is a beautifully written adventure! i do think the creator does have a forum thread here for it as well! but i agree, the characters are so easy to get attached to, and the villain is fantastically written!
im hoping that the session is not doomed!

Ahh, I didn't see that. I hope we get a search feature soon... and a reply button.

That's a heart-warming topic to see though! Thank you all for all of your kind words.

It's interesting you're talking about the specific "early Homestuck" atmosphere of the work, JakeMorph - because it's a common interrogation for me, I do like the early atmosphere of 2010 Alternia, back when I started working on the preparatory phases of the webcomic, and I want to preserve this aspect... yet there were so many interesting new things added to the lore in the last 15 years, and I don't want to make the new updates a kind of artificial "period piece". It's a balance to find.

I always weigh how interesting and appropriate some recent concepts are against the preservation of the early identity of the comic. In Alabaster's new era (2023-today, starting page 2571 https://mspfa.com/?s=236&p=2571 ), you'll occasionally see Hiveswap elements and perspectives for example, but I try to keep it sparse and specific.
