2 AM Skaia headcanon

Maybe less headcanon and more fanfic? None of this is a theory or based on any evidence, I just like the idea and read a little too much Like One Sundered Star. If you asked Skaia what it is, it wouldn't tell you anything because it's not conscious the way we are. It's like a dreaming person: it can feel things and want things and, because it has a supercomputer mind that makes Doc Scratch greener with envy, it can observe and feel about everything in paradox space at once. But it can't focus or hold a conversation, because it's a subconscious with no conscious. But if it could talk, it would tell you it created the universe. It would tell you it is the Monarch of Order, an aspect it hoards to itself, that it cast out the Horrorterrors (beings of Chaos) so it can rule the other classes with a gentle but firm hand and use them to tell the perfect story. Everyone is its puppet show and everything is its clockwork design. It would be delusional. This next bit, I know almost nothing about philosophy, this is all meant to be "good enough for a story". Skaia is not the creator, it's the demiurge, and Order is not a real aspect*. Chaos is, and being Chaos it breaks the trend and doesn't have a pair. The thirteenth aspect to the cherubs' thirteenth zodiac sign. In real life rulers and governments try to create order, but their webs of laws and which ones are enforced when get so cumbersome they feel like chaos. Their bureaucracies introduce corruption which brings inefficiency and chaos. They uproot people's lives and throw them into a tailspin on a whim, which is definitely chaos. But even if you had one person who could control everything with perfect efficiency, according to objective standards, they would have to choose or create those standards. That process would involve emotions, which are chaotic. Order creates and comes from chaos. So Skaia must be a being of Chaos in denial. It pretends it can write a story without whims, without ever changing its plan from start to finish, without any outside influences. Its dreaming ignores the holes in its absolute control. How do doomed timelines it doesn't approve of form? How can its creations defy its strict gender roles and even become nonbinary? Why are its puppets' lives so wacky and out of balance? If a Prince destroys their aspect, what would a Monarch of Order be? Of course, being a lot more omniscient and omnipotent than its Fraud Guardians, parts of its supercomputer mind occasionally figure this out even in their dreamlike mental state. And being omni-those things, Skaia doesn't have to change if it doesn't want to. So it simply ejects those uncomfortable parts of itself. Those bits of self-aware Chaos become the cores that Horrorterrors grow from, which is the real reason they're incompatible with Skaia's creation. They still have some order left in them, they'd have to to stay distinct beings. But they can't fit into Skaia's fake order anymore. I guarantee when I wake up in the morning I'll see a million holes in this lmao
