yaknow i checked on the forum a couple times and went "huh no upd8 thread yet" and it never once crossed my mind to actually make one lmao. out here silking some songs

for actual thoughts: with all these new characters we are getting what i oft like to call "peak homestuck bullshit" i can not be phased by the prospect of possible teen pregnancy horseboy rp when put into context of a hs chatlog. i just nod and go. Yup thats a homestuck!

the talk of satyr mentors has me wondering what theyll be like. we already know what nymph adults look like thanks to meemaw, but what about for the saytrs? my headcanon? when they mature into adults they become quadrupedal and end up resembling centaurs.

i think it would be funny if they looked like bo jack horse man

There's a touch of Arquiusprite in The Mountain, and he's lucky to live in a society where people want to touch his muscles. Also intrigued by the beehives - a) I associate them with Sollux and b) there is a spectrum of honey there, but a different one from the troll hemospectrum. And those bees are so cute! Their faces are sheer vintage MSPA.

Honestly I was getting tired of Swiss (//_T) so I'm super glad that we finally got some dialogue this update!!! CT is so awesome... "the mountains not doing that" is a beautiful phrase to say to anyone. Also CC got mentioned!!! Dagger!!!!! I really hope he's transmasc but it'd also be funny if CC was a catfisher. Swiss being jealous was kinda cute, I guess. Actually I just want to talk about CC, being seen as a predatory outsider with a "fake" name who just wants to roleplay...(//-;) if he isn't trans I'll feel really dumb but swagever ¯\_(//-^)_/¯

Ok I know I said it'd be "funny" if they were bojacks but it honestly makes perfect sense, if adult nymphs look like barely-anthropomorphized bipedal squids like the Caretaker. Unless there's something funnier and better I can't think of, they pretty much have to be walking horses.

Someone mentioned to concept of CC being trans since we see him with satyr ears, and this update really made me think that even more. Especially Swiss saying that it sounds fake / made up.

Im sorry but satyrs growing up and metamorphisizing to look like Bojack Horseman makes no sense. Horse Steve-O, the Satruvian Alkyrin, and the giant statue in the honeyfall courtyard look nothing like him. And i know Steve-O the human man is an adult, so its reasonable to say he didn't metamorphose in any way

Also satyrs are made up of two mammals (humans (dirk) and horses), and neither of them metamorpihize

Uhh.. I said nothing about metamporphosizing. The photos of real actors in John's room look nothing like his dad either. Troll Will Smith does not look like HIC. Etc.

Ok, I guess the confusion is that Nymphs are said to have a "metamorphosis", but we don't actually know what that means yet and there are various mixed signals regarding it. The Caretaker doesn't have a human face under her squid head - but the guardians of the Homestuck kids also do not have faces. I am assuming for now that she is subject to a form of abstraction like all HS adults. Under this pattern, adult satyrs would be abstracted to just have horse heads. That this is very stupid is actually just another piece of supporting evidence.
