what if the grand metamorphosis is some heinousstuck shit? we know nymphs have alchemy and magic and might literally be precursors to the horroterrirs so like its believable to me that the caretaker is a slight red herring where thats not actually like a generalizable case of what adult nymphs look like bc they all turn out totally different in their squiddley ways
