There's a mindboggling amount of worldbuilding and theorybait here and it's fantastic stuff, I'm having a really fun time observing it. I'm CAPTIVATED by AA though, she immediately feels like a category dave level event for impacting the way people talk online for years to come. I am watching thee from my orb now. shfkngkngg shes so so funny, and i can't wait to see her jaunty little wizardwitch hat in full sprite/design form.

The shape language going into her feels fascinating, too. This is just the vibe I'm getting of course, but the way the hat mixes into her nymph head--I get the impression the hat might have holes cut into it for those big black eyes they have??--ends up making her whole silhouette look drastically sharp and triangular, and what it ends up reminding me of very distinctly is Dirk.

That makes sense immediately because she's positioning herself as a very sharp character in conflict with both the world--with confidence of overcoming what it throws at her--and relative to Ly'lac. She seems to imagine herself so much sharper than Ly'lac that she very clearly thinks of their relationship in terms of Teacher/Pupil to some extent, echoing Dirk's relationship to Dave. There's a lot of resonances there just in general.

It paints a really dynamic and interesting portrait of their relationship, and it's quite evocative. I'm not totally sure I parse the way Nymph aging works yet either, so it's also a little funny because I'm wondering if AA is even actually that much older than Ly'ly or if that presentation of herself as her elder is all just posturing? The idea that she IS and we're getting a session with players of varying ages is interesting on its face, though.

God this is so exciting. Great job all around.

'"I thought this was a love story," you say.

Your Lola's insistence has remained with you since the beginning, and you say these words in a quiet manner, with a shrug, as if to let these performers know it is fine, it does not matter that much, this thought—that maybe the definition of what a love story is could be stretched to include all that has up till now taken place. You say it like an apology. Like it is a thing to be apologized for.

A runaway child, charging through the porcelain shelves:

I thought this was a love story. I had hoped this was a love story.

You say it with shame, embarrassed at having said it, wishing you could take it back.

You say it, worried that you have betrayed some secret part of yourself that does not wish to be exposed—

an old gremlin in you, sick and yearning. You say it with hope.
Timid, and without conviction.

The hope of someone who knows they are about to wake from a dream to a reality they do not understand. The pub awaits, as does your empty bed.

I thought this was a love story.

You regret having said it; as if you know it will lessen the quality of the tale. Rob it of its smoke and shadow. But still, you say it.

And this moonlit body smiles. And from the wings the patting of the drums slowly builds, and the curtains behind the dancers rise. Because you are right, this moonlit body tells you;
This is indeed a love story. Down to the blade-dented bone.'
