my guess (assuming that the speculation in the hiveswap/oddgentleman articles isn't true) as to why hussie would want gio to be the one to put out the "recontextualization" is twofold, one being that it can look a whole lot better publicly if the person who initially put out a damaging article is the one to retract and/or replace it (though there's always the chance it will backfire and convince people that a retraction is proof it's true for some reason), and two being (and this is the bigger one) that hussie and anyone else properly in the know to be able to put out a recontextualization are probably under an nda broad enough that they feel them saying anything publicly more than just "that article isn't true" would open them to legal retaliation from theoddgentleman.
