@sethblaidd

would just like to say i appreciate your timeline breakdown a lot :). saved me from any more hours wasted scrolling up and down that article with a headache sdfhjsdhjfgk. in particular, i think the idea that hussie thought the 'bambosh needs to sign this with gio' argument didn't have legal backing would explain a lot wrt how such a simple deadlock could go on for so long. they'd both see each other as stalling, huh? makes sense that frustration would skyrocket.

that being said, like others have been saying, i think from here we've kind of hit the limit of how much we can 'know' about what literally happened day to day, unless an official response includes an exhaustive recount (which i highly doubt it will). i feel pretty settled on saying that hussie had a right to ask/do what he did, just as gio had the right to deny hussie's terms. so the outrage seemed and still seems totally disproportionate to me. like, we know hussie isn't pulling this shit with any old fan, because otherwise these forums + the licensed works wouldn't exist. and if you take out the thousands of words of 'concern' about how hussie wants homestuck dead and hates her fans and will hit anyone who criticises her with C&D's, then this article boils down to 'my negotiation with hussie went badly'.

and frankly, if gio hadn't shown his ass so thoroughly in the process of overwriting this article, i feel like he'd have way more support? i fundamentally disagree that the homestuck fandom is one that refuses all criticism of hussie in favour of calling them a 'god king' or whatever the fuck. they've done some weird shit over the years. but gio's extremely transparent agenda when writing this just raises more questions than answers as to how the hell he thought this would read. ESPECIALLY with all the basic structural and stylistic errors @max has been talking about that point to it being rushed for 8/8. like it's not even a GOOD piece of shit-stirring on its own terms, you know? truly baffling.
